 Provocative Drama

Following the murder of eleven Israeli athletes during the Munich Olympics of 1972 a small task force is assigned by Israel's secret service to locate and eliminate all those responsible.

Being inspired by real events Munich was always going to be a controversial movie but, while it contains tense scenes throughout, it thankfully avoids choosing sides or sensationalizing events. This is more than just a simple case of good guys vs. bad guys and everyones actions can be called into question at some point.

Every member of the cast really excels at depicting the conflicting emotions and pressures that these sorts of events inflict upon people ensuring that the characters come across as wholly believable helping to make Munich an intriguing watch throughout.

 Top Notch

Wow...

It's a bit long at 2 and half hours, but it's so worth it. I loved it the first viewing, and loved it the second. It's got to be one of my favs in fact.

The main actor, Eric Bana, who was the lead character in Chopper, puts in a great performance alongside co stars, and they form a decent group that are very likeable. Based on true events, I was hooked on this movie after 10mins and was really into it.

There's various flashbacks that add a lot to the movie, emotionally and detail wise, and I liked the outcome after everything the characters go through. The story is great and you'll be entertained for the entire duration of the movie.

Check it out!!

 Made to perfection.

this film is a masterclass in acting and directing. an excellent plot based on actual events which mixes action and suspense in just the right proportions. as with all spielberg films the atmosphere of the film is fantastic with beautifilly shot scenes and very good performances from the cast, notably daniel craig as a gung ho south african. it is a very thought provoking film and although it is based on events that happened many years ago, it just as easily relates to current world affairs. buy it.

 AN ACT OF VENGEANCE!

This oustanding thriller is inspired by real events, as it reveals Israel's response to the the fateful seige at the 1972 Munich Olympic games. As M.O.S.A.D hires a hit squad to track down and assassinate the 11 Palestinians had had planned the Olympic massacre.
This is one of Spielberg's greatest, and most hard hitting films, and the vilolence is shocking, but very real. The film's cast is great as Eric Banner and Daniel Craig take leads in the death squad. The story is gripping, and is very even handed, and never takes sides between the Israeli and Palestinian situation.
This is a master-class of a thriller, but anybody wanting to see a slam-bang action film should stay away, as this film leaves you much to think about long after he credits have ended.
A very intelligent thriller that needs more than one viewing.
Outstanding!

 Poignant Thriller that misses action

Based on a true story, in the aftermath of the infamous Olympics in which the Israeli Olympic team were held hostage by militants, revenge is planned meticulously and carried out systematically by certain Jews against all those who harmed their brothers in the Munich disaster. Spielberg delivers this as a slow moving thriller with spouts of action, yet the story doesn't move fast enough for the scale of the events and gravity of the consequences.

A brilliant story from the great

Fantastic and objective from Spielberg, although some thought it would be otherwise. A great cast who portray all the emotions expertly. A sad tale of revenge for a sad act, another Spielberg masterpiece rather than an attempt to clean sweep all movie awards with drivel. Magnificent.

Steven Spielberg has really done a great job with Munich. It is absolutely brilliant from start to finish, the writing is brilliant, the acting is brilliant and the directing is brilliant. The action scenes in this movie are great, each one of them has you in a little suspense. The story is a good one, it might be a slightly long movie but it doesn't seem like it. You can throughly enjoy every minute of this movie and still want to watch it again.
It's a must see movie, without a doubt of the best movies in 2005.
