Review

This 2-part adventure features Colin Baker as the titular Timelord.

On the planet Karfel a high ranking official, Maylin Tekker, uses threats against Peri to force the Doctor (Colin Baker) to go to Earth and bring back a young woman called Vena who, while holding a precious amulet, has accidentally fallen into the Timelash - a time tunnel through which the planet's tyrannical ruler the Borad banishes all rebels. The Doctor also inadvertently brings back Herbert, a man from the 19th Century, who stows away aboard the Tardis.

This dvd is filled with SOME special features, it would of been nice if they had put cgi effects in the special features menu though.
Timelash has been given alot of bad reviews, i'm going to give it a good one, because i think this story was actually quite entertaining and shocking. I would recommend that if your going t buy a colin baker story, buy revelation of the daleks or the 2 doctors. but this stor is good aswel.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars Maybe the shoddiest story ever made....

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

Very few Doctor Who DVDS onhere have prompted as many reviews as this one has. The chief reasonbeing that it is often considered to be one of the worst stories that was ever made. There are certain qualities to it though. Yes I agree it isn't that good and on the whole it is rather appalling but there are things to take into consideration.Yes, I think Colin Baker had a rough time as the Doctor. Upon reflection and with hindsight and looking back years later you realise that he could have done better if he had only been given the chance. He was let down by poor scripts in the same way that McCoy was to be. However McCoy was saved in his final year by a U-Turn Baker wasn't.
The one major benefit that this story has is that Peri is in it and not Baker's next assistant of Bonnie Langford. If she had been in it then it would have been totally appalling.
