JSA is about the relationship of four men; two from the South of Korea and two from the North. That's it. What may sound ultimately boring is however actually a fascinating insight into modern day Korea. Though both sides of men have different values and different beliefs they all become strong friends in a world that is hostile to their relationships.

Yet when the magic of their friendship is subject to the harsh realities of the outside world things become problematic. A character driven story that captures the realties of Korea well. Defiantly worth a watch for any Chan-Wook fan.
