I have the fortune to be able to understand Japanese and I got to view all 26 Episodes of this.
My conclusion is that It has a very Complete plot which is much better than the 1990's adaption. My only quible is the fights aren't as spectacular.
But if you are after a near perfect interpretation of the Manga original this is it...
P.S. Look forward to seeing "Gigantic Guyver" its so cool...
And now it has come!!!

I like so many other reviewers have watched the orginal serise of Guyver and i wish back then that they have comption it. And now they have relessed a all new look serise.
Is it has good or better than the orginal? I would say... yes, in many way it is. There was a lot of unanswered questions left open in the orginal and in the new one i hope they will be answered.
So i look forward to gotting the all serise and find out.

Anyone who loved the original Guyver series this is a MUST have...! Stunning visually, they even kept the same characters and basic story line but tweeked it just enough and as the original ended halfway through the story I've been waiting to see how it finishes.... YOU MUST OWN THIS SERIES....!!!!!!
Story is better than the original but fighting is poor

Compared to the original series this version is far superior in story as it sticks closely to the manga comic (except for Guyver 2 story), but I felt let down at the pace and toned down violence. The original fight with enzyme was a gore fest whereas this version is a tickeling contest in comparison.
Its abit pricey as well!!!!!!!!!!!
Great series but:

The series is great but very expensive to buy the series. Also this collection is only season 1, it ends with a lot for season 2 to carry on with.
I recomend this show to anyone who has not seen the original as it covers all what happened in the original series, and continues the story closer to the manga then the original series.
It is silly that we in the UK only have vol 1 and 2 and the USA has all 6 volumes.
Looks good but somethings missing.

Like some previous posters I enjoyed the earlier Guyver series when it was released here in the 90's. Ok the animation wasn't great and sometimes (particularly in the later episodes) the characters looked drawn a bit off. But it was just so much fun to watch and hell I even liked the music on the dubbed version. When a remake of the Guyver first became announced I thought it might be good and fix the animation problems of the previous one... which it does... but.. well I don't like most of the updated character designs but that's ok. The real problem is though I just found this new version boring and I just didn't care what happened unlike the older series.
Anyways should please plenty of people but I think I'll stick with the older one, which may not be as polished but has plenty more charm.
Awesome!!!! Guyver rules

I've never been too obsessed with Manga; but always had a keen interest in anime in general because of some of the amazing things that they can do. Guyver has to be one of my all time favs and I still have the original VHS series in my cupboard to prove it!
This is a remastered version with a few added fights and scenes that go down very well; giving a lot more explanation than the previous while still staying true to the original in many ways. The anime in general is absolutely amazing; from rain on a windscreen to all out action shots they've captured it just right.
If you loved the films; then these will also go down well without having either ruining the story of each - although obviously Manga like this can do more than a low-budget film ever could!
The only annoying thing from both past and present is that the main character's name 'Sho' will get annoying; mainly due to his female interest whining and crying it a lot; but eitherway the action still looks damn good! :P
A good buy and definately recommended for those computer / action film / martial arts/ manga geeks out there! :o)

I received my copy the other day and as a BIG FAN of the old manga series I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong the animation and adaption is great, it is a bit lack lust to its original 12 part manga series.
The fight scenes in the original were far superior and the storyline doesn't seem to be as fast paced. I am however looking forward to the future volumes to be released and it will be a great part of anybodies DVD collection. I can only hope that the original 12 part collection is also released onto DVD for everones viewing pleasure.
