Hotshot gambler Jake Green (Jason Statham) is long on bravado and seriously short of common sense. Rarely is he allowed in any casino because he's a bona fide winner and, in fact, has taken so much money over the years that he's the sole client of his accountant elder brother, Billy.

Invited to a private game, Jake is expected, for fear of losing his life, to lose heavily to local crime lord Macha (Liotta). However, despite warnings, Jake cleans out Macha and must go to work for a pair of brothers who promise to protect him from the inevitable visit of a hitman coming Jake's way...

This film was mauled by critics, and although Ritchie's second worst film, after the previouse disaster of Swept Away, it is not all bad. The faults are obviouse, by having Jason Statham in the lead. I really like Statham, but he is better suited in action films, as his acting talents are not enough to carry this dense and perplexing drama thriller. The plot is pompus and over complicated for the sake of trying to be clever, and is the perfect example of style over substance, with it's multi stranded story. But the films saving grace is the overall effect, it will never be considered as a classic, and will split the viewers opinion being loathed and loved in equel measure, but it's worth a second watch, and although the fun of Lock stock and Snatch as been sapped away from every frame of the film. Revolver is still quite entertaing if you can just get past some of the head scratching tedium.
Give it a watch, and make your own mind up!

This is a smart film ...I recommend after watching to go to IMDB.COM, go to the forum for explanations on those bits where you might be scratching your head .....oh and buy a dummies guide to chess ...it'll come in pretty handy

 Excellent!

This movie is brilliant, and YES it is different from the other Guy Richie´s movies...this movie is deeper...you have to use your brain a bit more to understand everything that´s going on...
I loved it!! :)
