I do not know how the previous reviewer can say this is akin to the quality of "dead mans shoes". This is a poor film that has plot jumps all over it, asking you to assume certain facts. The credibility of an ex-para not being able to fight for toffee is an insult to that regiment. If they had only written a script to do justice to the likes of the cast that they assembled then this film could have been a classic. If you wish to buy a fantastic film buy the afore mentioned dead mans shoes. FAR SUPERIOR.
Gritty British Movie With Some Of The Best British Actors!!!

In my opinion , this has to be one of my favorite films. It has some of the most realistic fight scenes and a great vigilante storyline. It has Sean Bean, Danny Dyer, and Bob Hoskins. If you are a fan of gritty British films like Dead Man's Shoes, This Is England, Football Factory and the business, This film is right for you. I would recommend it for all dvd collectors.
Hard to remember a worse movie

Whatever you do, don't buy this. It is terrible! The acting isn't allowed to be good, seeing as the script is so awful. I can't even talk about the plot because there simply wasn't one. It wasn't even good just as a violent movie. It seemed to be aiming towards some sort of moral message, but i can't say what it was. Nor can I say who I was even supposed to like, they all seemed like idiots. I'm really not sure what anyone was thinkin with this one
Could have been better but wasn't bad

Having read the reviews here before seeing the film I saw mostly it had either 1 star or 4 or 5 stars so to many pople they either loved it or hated it. I thought it was ok. It could have been a lot better granted. The director spoiled it for me with his irritating camerawork and yes I agree with an earlier review that the grainy camera doesn't make it look more gritty and real but it messes it up. On the whole I would say rent it not buy it but it passed away an hour and a half for me with decent entertainment.
Disappointing

I was looking forward to seeing this film after listening to some of the reviews it was receiving...but...what a disapointment !! With such talented actors at their disposal this could, and should have been so much better. The directing is poor, Danny Dyer puts in a one dimensional performance, and the storyline jumps at points so significantly that it completely disrupts the flow of the story.
Personally...i would never recommend this to anyone i liked .

It's so violent, you can tell it is British.
Sean Bean is the best thing in the entire movie.
I don't know what it is that lost the star for me, but there ae just a couple of bits you hate, but otherwise very good.
Good Storyline

I like the idea of this film where you get a handful of pushovers that decide to act against those that make their lives difficult. The only problem was the directing, the director somehow made the storyline less of an issue (hard to describe).
Any way the film points out that Britain has changed so that drug dealers, paedophiles and so on have the upper hand. But Sean Bean decides to create a gang that retaliate to the evil people within our community. All the people that participate the group have had past experiences where the law has failed them but have no backbone to do anything about it, till now. From there the film takes you through their missions of attempting to make things right.
There was high potential for this film, I mean it wasn't bad but it was held back a bit. I don't like admitting it but I think if Hollywood would have done this movie it would probably of been better.
It's a decent film worth a watch but I'd wait till it is like 2.99 before buying it.
High Hopes, POOR DIRECTING

Similar in hopes to THIS IS ENGLAND, But doesnt quite hit mark. Toucjes on many characters, doesnt explore them enough, Some are irrelevant, and the plot seems to be heading one way, then goes another.
Should be 30 mins longer. BEAN & HOSKINS play good roles, but i fell they were let down by the director. BEAN's character seems to have no direction at all. DYER plays good role again, but too scattered for me. Could have been a GREAT FILM with better director
A great british film

Think of falling down meets copland this has a suberb storyline and great performances sean bean plays a great part and not a fan of danny dyer but plays the role right in this movie. Its not often the british make a lot of great films but ever so often one comes round the corner like this one.
