Taking into account the dangerous times that this film was made during World War Two. It was obviously important, for the "censors" of the time, that the right image was passed for the general public and the moral of all who viewed it. So with that thought it was obvous to me that this was yet another standard British war related film. That was filled with bright eyed and bushy tailed young men standing in line to join the RAF and do their "bit" for King and Country. Though it is questionable whether those young men in the film gave an accurate image of the reality and gravity of the situation that they and this country were facing at the time. Those young men were brave. Yet more than 55,000 + never made it home which is what makes this film so good. Because it is based on fact and not fiction. In reality the film does not show in its script the fatal accidents that happened for obvious reasons. Just the image that was considered what the public wanted or needed to see. As well as the possability that it would entice more young men/woman to join up and do their "bit". For no other reason than the reality of the images that were given in this film of what a whole span of brave young men would endure for our future benifit. I would strongly surgest that this film is a wealth of historical fact of how the youth of this and other counties answered the call to fight for Freedom. Lets not forget what they did for us in their day in order for us to enjoy our day today at no cost to ourselves. So from my humble point of view folks this film is a good purchase. Guess I, like many others, are just old fashioned sentimentalists who appreciate and remember what was done by the brave young men and woman of then, in order for the youth of today to enjoy the Freedom that they take for granted but had one hell of a high price tag attached to it in the end. just sit back and enjoy the nostalga of the film folks.
