Suddenly, it's sexy to be 60 in this dark comedy starring Joanna Lumley and Denis Lawson.
Sensitive Skin looks at life through the eyes of a successful couple living in metropolitan London. Along with their friends, Al and Davina Jackson struggle with sexual temptation and professional jealousy and try to cope with their fear of the future.
Al (Lawson) is a pundit for a broadsheet newspaper and is paid to find imperfection in everything; Davina (Lumley) works in an art gallery and is paid to make life more beautiful.
However, being 60 isn't simple. The couple's 30-year-old son, Orlando, refuses to acknowledge adulthood, while Davina's sister, Veronica, and her husband, Roger, intimidate the Jacksons with their confident and controlled grasp of life.

A little gem

Joanna Lumley is on top form. This underated drama is so much better than any of the reality rubbish that dominates the airwaves nowadays. It's a wonderful study of a woman in her older years. A real mixture of drama, comedy, warmth, compassion, regrets, hopes and disappointments.
A must see for all Lumley fans but also a real find for anyone who likes their subtle dramas.

Outstanding and Brilliant

Joanna Lumley and Dennis Lawson make a perfect duo in this delightful and funny dark comedy. The humour is subtle and yet brilliantly funny. The story is very well written and clearly states middle to olfer age at its best.
With other appearances such as Frances De La Tour playing a very outspoken woman was excellent. Not to mention of course Roger and his wife.
Orlando was brilliantly portrayed (also appeared in Ab fab as one of Saffrons friends who lived in Chelsea).
This is one of the best things I have ever seen. I have just watched the other 6 episodes of Seies 2. Hope that the DVD comes out soon.
All in all - a brilliant must have in my treasured collection.
