Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which is a gift and a curse which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling 'winnings.' But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

Based on the novel 'The Golden Man' by Philip K Dick.

this is the best film 'nicholas cage ' has done for some
time.
it has suspense, action, and a really good string of twists
and turns.
some bits regarding his ability to see future happenings
maybe a bit iffy.
but you'll forgive that,because it's that good !
enjoy.

A bad, bad script might have made a reasonably entertaining movie, after all Tamahori managed it with 'Die Another Day', but here he fumbles the ball and so there is very little to enjoy here. Still, there are a few passable sequences, but not enough to make it worth sitting through.

 Bad review, entertaining watch

Having watched pretty much every film starring Nicolas Cage I wasn't about to let this one slide after hearing poor reviews. Nicolas plays the lost character well, someone in search of something they aren't really sure of. The story develops well, a love interest which later conflicts with the other half of his life. Without giving too much away, the film turned out to provide a large amount of action, a few twists and a weird and abrupt ending. A very easy watch which kept me watching for the duration.

 An Excellent Watch

Almost to the end of Next and I must admit that it has been brilliant all throughout the film. I can honestly say that this will have you watching from the start too the finish.

I wish that I could match Kevin's review but after such a review, you cannot add much more.

In the last few years Nic Cage has had some awful movies such as "The Wickerman" and "Windtalkers" but then there have been once like "Bangkok Dangerous", "Ghost Rider" and this film that have recieved negative reviews by many but are actually just good entertaining Cage vehicles. The plot is free flowing as Cage plays Cris Johnson a person who can see into the future and FBI agent Julianne Moore wants to use his gift to help track down a group of terrorists before they cause mayhem.....good action sequences and also a great performance by Jessica Biel as support to Cage. Enjoy
