Dead Silence is about as good as an evil doll move could get, I think. Probably because the main evil in the movie isn't the doll but the doll maker. Also because the characters are believable and likable for the most part and the movie doesn't always follow your expectations.

Wan does an excellent job of setting the mood and keeping it ratcheted to the creepy side of the scale. There are also few places where people act in egregiously stupid ways.

There are flaws, however. There are some very stupid shots where Wan is obviously trying to impress us with how clever he can be. (Down boy! Down! Good Director. Here's a biscuit.) I'm sure you'll recognize these. They all have to do with a car driving except one very early on that has to do with pupils.

There is also a superfluous twist at the end that cheapens all that went before. But it's short and you can just ignore that it happened.

I found this a enjoyable film, good twists in it ,which includes the ending, not sure if i liked the ending though!
Reminds me of the story line to Nightmare on Elm st ,and has been mentioned has got a chucky feel to it as well.
Worth a watch

This film boasts one of the scariest characters on screen, Mary Shaw, an evil that creeps even adults out. it had an interesting story and an impressive twist that was completely unpredictable, overall an entertaining ghost ride.

This horror film is very different from most horror films in this day and age as it has a lot of suspense and tension building rather than just gore and graitutious violence which is found in most horror films these days. It also has some hint of Chucky movies in it as in the film it centres around a cursed doll. Great horror!!!

if you see her in your dreams,
never ever scream.
If i were you id follow these guidelines this film is both strange and intriguing. once you put it on you wont beable to look away. so make-sure you use the loo prior to pressing play or you could make a mess, lol. this film would suit a variety of viewers as it has not only the gore factor but its also got a compelling plot.
well worth a watch

This film spooked me right out. I love ghost and horror films. This one is amazing. I am not a girl who usually gets bothered watching a scary film but omg. If you like ghost or spooky films you should definitely watch it. It's a brilliant film but make sure you have someone to cuddle up with while you are watching it.

10/10 i honestly thought this one going to be some kind of cheap film they put the "saw" bit on you see on alot of movies e.g. produced by, made by, directed by, people from saw etc. but it's a good film really good nice little twist at the end, thats the only bit that kind of links to saw at the end the way they show the twist it kind of goes back into the film and shows you the hints, i like it like that anyway. Fair do's you see the puppet from saw in the movie and the main puppets name is billy but has nothing to do with saw at all, but like in death sentence there is also a picture of the saw puppet billy there to. Just james Wan little trade mark i think, good film don't watch.. buy!

fantastic film, dont get scared by horrors, and i liked this one because it plays with your mind more, not all guts and gore.
definetly one to keep, go and buy it just to see the twist fantastic!! i watch it over and over again!!!

I am a great horror movie fan but find that I am easily disappointed by horror films these days. This film was however fantastic and worth stick around for the twist. Buy it and enjoy!
