Based on the popular Newbery Award-winning novel, Bridge To Terabithia is a story of friendship, family and the power of imagination.
Jess Aarons is an outsider at school and even in his own family. Jess has trained all summer to become the fastest kid in his middle school class, but his goal is unexpectedly thwarted by the new girl in school, Leslie Burke, who competes in the "boys only" race and wins.
Despite their awkward introduction, the two outsiders quickly become best friends. Leslie loves to tell stories of fantasy and magic. Jess loves to draw, but until he met Leslie, it was something he kept to himself. Leslie opens up a new world of imagination for Jess. Together, they create the secret kingdom of Terabithia, a magical place only accessible by swinging on an old rope over a stream in the woods near their homes. There, the friends rule the kingdom, fight the Dark Master and his creatures and plot against the school bullies. Thanks to his friendship with Leslie, Jess is changed for good.

The first half of the film was okay, and good at some instances. But the incident at near the end labels the film and moral 'pointless'
tough lessons!

I read the book of this so knew what I was getting, the rest of the group rented this one blind expecting a fantasy film set in an enchanted land, The title would also suggest that too. In fact this is the story of a poor family in America's Mid West, It charts the children's friendship with a new commer to the town who catches the imagination of a young lad who is artistic but struggles with his artistic streak in a tough enviroment. Together the two children create an imaginary land of Terrabithia that only they can see. The Film is not a fantasy movie, it moves at a relatively slow pace for younger viewers but then the book is pitched at 15 year olds. A great adaptation of the book but will leave most of the fantasy audience cold. Nanny Mcphee and Narnia are all better examples of the genre for younger ones. The film however is entertaining and will command a second viewing. Very well adapted, expertly written and wonderfully acted.
Wow, What A Surprise

I rented this movie and I was treated with a huge surprise. When it was recommended I was warned not to judge this one by its cover. For those of you looking for an easy watching fantasy for all the family to watch on a Sunday afternoon, this isn't for you. This movie is full of dialogue and sophisticated levels of plot development and thus is not for very young children. However, after watching this film I was left very deep in thought and was extremely entertained. Annasophia Robb is a star in the making and the outstanding cast member in this feature. Very well directed and acted. 5 STARS
