Pirates Of The Caribbean - Curse Of The Black Pearl: The idyllic pirate life of roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp in an Oscar-nominated performance) capsizes after his nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) steals his ship, the Black Pearl, and later attacks the town of Port Royal, kidnapping the governor's beautiful daughter Elizabeth (Keira Knightley).

In a gallant attempt to rescue her and recapture the Black Pearl, Elizabeth's childhood friend Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) joins forces with Jack. What Will doesn't know is that a cursed treasure has doomed Barbossa and his crew to live forever as the undead!

Suspense-filled adventure, sword-clashing action, mystery, humour, unforgettable characters and never-before-seen special effects make Pirates Of The Caribbean a must-have movie on the grandest scale ever!

Pirates Of The Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest: Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is mortified to discover he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. With time running out, Jack must find a way out of his debt or else be doomed to eternal damnation.

And as if this weren't enough, his problems prompt the cancellation of the wedding plans of a certain Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), who are forced to join Jack on another maritime misadventure!

 All around great boxset

A great couple of films. These films show that Hollywood is not dead and films can still be made with the same glamour as they did in the golden age. Unfortunately this is not the trilogy so it would be better to wait for that to be released. But if you can't wait this is what you need.

 Wait for trilogy boxset

Top 100 Games Reviewer

The first two Pirates of the Caribbean films are amazing and should be watched by everyone. They follow the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), who has to be one of the funniest and most loveable character of modern film. With him are Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), with all three main actors putting in great performances.

The special effects on the films are breathtaking and the stunts are done to such a high level that the film is gorgeous to watch and entertaining for every minute.

The downside of this boxset in particular is that the films are a trilogy, so any fans of the series so far would be better off waiting a bit longer until they releases all of them in a boxset.

But overall the films are amazing and some of the best you can see in recent years.

Not worth it for 1 good film

Pirates black pearl is one of the best modern blockbuster films, full of wit, clever set pieces and a sharp script.

Sadly it has fallen victim to its own success by spawning 2 terrible follow up films that by the end of it will make you forget how good the original was.

I strongly advise getting the spec. edition of Black pearl and forgetting that dead mans chest and at worlds end were ever made.
