Well directed horror that fails to impress due to a slightly over-serious script. Would have worked a lot better if the tone had been similar to 'Roadkill' - instead we have a film that thinks it's edgy. The tension building works well, but once it strays into more familiar chase territory it fails to keep momentum.
Ignore the braindead crowd that are just looking for another Hostel or Saw movie, Vacancy is far better than that. It's a well constructed and creepy little film that relies alot more on suspense than all out gore.
When i originally saw the trailers for this film i really liked what i saw but was wondering how the hell are are they gonna make this into a full length movie? What starts out as basically two people in a room ends up as a really suspenseful cat and mouse game that kept me on the edge of my seat right up until the very end.
Watch it on your own late at night then see how you feel about booking a room in some cheap motel next time you're travelling alone...
This is a film I stumbled upon, and to be honest wasn't expecting much. Although the first 15mins are pretty slow paced it picks up after that and you feel like you are on a rickety old rail road, just waiting to fall off!
Filled with jumpy moments, suspense and twisty and turney throughout, this film will not disappoint.
I have to say i was really suprised with this movie, i saw the trailer for it a few nights ago and it looked superb, but i have seen many fantastic trailers and the film was rubbish, but not ini this case, fantastic storyline, parts where played well, kept me on the edge of my seat, only downside of the film was that it ended sooner than i would have imagined, it could have gone on for abit longer.....unless they are leaving it open for a 'Vacancy 2'
I found this film very boring, like a low-budget movie that doesnt make it to the cinema. Not worth the money or time spent watching it.
