Rise is a supernatural thriller in which a reporter (Liu) wakes up in a morgue to discover she is no longer among the living. She vows revenge against the cult responsible for turning her into a vampire and hunts them down one by one. Michael Chiklis plays 'Rawlins,' a haunted police detective whose daughter is killed by the same cult and seeks answers for her gruesome death.

worth a watch..while annoying at times flicking from past to present ,when it stays in the present it has shade of kill bill, lui is enjoyable as ever .room for improvement ?yes, but still enjoyable, a female blade in the making and people be honest would you object to lucy sinking her fangs into you
'lucy liu' keeps your attention.

many will buy this because of 'lucy liu' and why not ?
i must point out there are no 'martial' art scenes often
assosiated with 'lucy's' performances.
'lucy' is a reporter and is investigating a mysterious death.
however, she is caught by those that she is investigating, she is turned into a 'vampire' like being.
but she still has enough caracter to attempt to exact revenge for being turned into something she does not want to remain being.
she sets out on a vendetta, but has to get past and kill
those that protect the 'cult' leader before she can try to gain the revenge that she seeks.
this film has graphic 'blood' feasting and a fair share of other violent scenes.
the film does keep sliping forward and backward in time,
the reason for this does however become clear.
it's not a bad film and is probably worth buying if you enjoy 'vampire' type movies.
