I agree with the above reviewer. The series started on a real high with Garth Marenghi and Steve Pising, hilarious stuff. The shame is after this the only person still making you laugh is Dean Learner himself when he goes off on his rants. Despite this it's still better than most comedy these days so definately worth a buy for the special features and stuff.
step backwards from darkplace

I bought this because of the brilliant "darkplace." but i was pretty disapointed with man to man. it seemed a bit fin on gags. its not a terrible comedy but when you compare it to darkplace it was always gonna come in 2nd place. buy the darkplace/man to man boxset, its better value.
excellent

I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. I think the show is masterly and the last episode is the best thing in a superlative series - easily the equal of darkplace, if not better. All the episodes are very strong. And the extras are incredible - nearly four hours of great stuff. Wish more DVDs were like this! Buy it!

After two episodes of this I really thought it was up there with Darkplace. (If you haven't seen that, then get that DVD first!) But after the episode with Steve Pising none of the episodes after reach those heights again. Still very funny, but not quite a legendary comedy like Darkplace.

If you are a fan of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace stop reading this now and just click Buy. You will thank me later.
For those who do not know Garth Marenghi's Darkplace read this first if you like the sound click Buy here and then get Darkplace.
Simple comedy plot device, the talk show. However here we have Dean Learner. A character trapped in late 70s early 80s style and sophistication.
Every week a different character played by Matt Holness (Garth Marenghi) come in and has a cosy chat with Dean. It soon becomes apparent that Dean is only 'friends' with these 'celebrities' as it makes him money.
Excellent characters, brilliant dialogue and good chemistry betwixt the two main acts.
Very funny stuff!
