He's faced Daleks, he's faced Cybermen, but somehow the Doctor will always fear most the man who is his equal, the Master.

With a series so varied in stories and action, the last three episodes make up for any doubts a viewer may have had. Simm is some excellent casting as the insane Master and bringing Jack back really rounded off the group. With the build up to the very end looking even more hopeless for humanity, it is Martha who gets her time to shine. Also, keep an eye out for the short scene toward the end of the last episode that will keep this series baddie connected to the next.

Action packed and well acted, worth the money if you're a Doctor fan.

A three parter that kept me on the edge of my seat! Captain Jack is reunited with the doctor after riding on the outside of the TARDIS! In the far future, a professor and his assisstant, Chantho, are working on a rocket trying to get to fly to the haven Utopia. After meeting the doc, the professor discovers that he is the master(one of the doctors enemies) in human fom and returns to his time lord heritage. Then in the present the master is prime minister of Britain and has got the doctor as public enemy#1! After aging the doc 100 years leaving him helpless, a year passes and Martha Jones is a rebel who is fighting to stop the masters reign but can she succeed?
The best episodes of the series!

At long last the Master is Back and if I may say better than all those who came before him.

In my mind the original master, although evil, was more into disguises and trying to steal people's bodies.

Now that he's been resurrected and has all his regenerations back he's unstoppable. Its a shame Derek Jacobi didn't have a longer part to play as the Master character but he still made a good go of it! John Simm plays the master as he is meant to be played - if Doctor was evil/mad what could he do and how far waould he go to make his name "Master" mean something.

A true masterpiece of a series finale (even if the Doctor had somewhat of a questionabl comeback). Also nice to see a timelord with proper taste in music ;o)

Quit the moaning, Who fans, it's getting a bit tedious.

I thought this was a great wee series, and these last 3 episodes are full of excitement. This show, as cliche as it is to say it, is for the whole family; i can say that because all five people in my household, of varying ages, male and female, love it. Also, i still can't get over the fact that Captain Jack will grow so old that he becomes The Face of Boe! That's probably my favorite twist of the series lol. The only bad episode of new Who has been Love and Monsters, which was frankly awfully acted, and stupidly written. But one episode in 3 series is not bad at all. Great show, but you'd probably be best to wait for the complete series boxset.

This review contains SPOILERS!!!

Following the wonderful 3.3 release could have been difficult. Thankfully what we have here is a cracking 3 part tale which send the watcher on one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Utopia brings Captain Jack back in to the Doctors life and the seeds of a strikingly different relationship are sewn. Through this episode you begin to see why the Doctor likes Jack and gets over his fear of Jacks immortality. With Freema Aygemans Martha, a trio of very likeable and more importantly cared for heroes come face to face with a human civilisation struggling to survive at the end of the universe. Guest star Derek Jacobi is just stunning. His portrayal of the doddery and kindly Professor is heart warming and fun to watch. As the story unwinds however a real sense of shock and disbelief come appear. The build up to the episode end revelation is simply nail biting. The acting is fast and spot on perfect from Tennant and Jacobi. The music score from Murray Gold just totally superb helping to allow this episode to end on a huge dramatic high. For the end of the episode alone - stunning.

The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords
He's back. He's insane. And he's Prime Minister.
John Simms portryal of Mister Saxon is just what todays tv needs - a proper, rounded and thought about villain. Russell T Davies has obviously thought long about how this character works and what makes him so bad ... and its just delivered by Simms so well. A proper villian, slightly comical, insane and totally ruthless. This man is the Doctor all over, just in reverse. Evil. What he does to the Doctor is shocking and not expected and you get the feeling that this time, the Doctor may not win.
Revelations are abound and for the first time in years, thanks to a flashback - we see Gallifrey and the Time Lords. Its a beautiful sequence, peaceful and elegant and makes you crave more!
Freema Agyeman again gets a huge lionshare of the action and proves just what a cracking companion Martha is. Superb! It says something when you dont actually recall Rose ....
Beautiful direction, superb effects, and an epic, movie style script from RTD and thoughtful, energetic, superb acting from all, proves Doctor Who to be the top of its game. Episode 14 was seen by just over 8million people in the UK - and it deserved it so much.
And a note to all who buy this and may not have seen it yet ... don't worry too much about the end of the episode...

3 more superb episodes to round off the best series of Doctor Who yet (ever) ... buy this now - you need it!
Heres to Christmas 2007 .....
