The last three episodes of series 3 of the finest show of the last 20 years.Firstly Russel T Davies deserves a Knighthood for re-vamping this amazing show. The greatest accomplishment of these episodes is simply the casting.David Tennant has always been superb as The Doctor, but pairing him with the charismatic and frankly Wonderful John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness is a stroke of genius. However the "masterstroke"(if youll forgive the pun) is the brilliant John Simm as The Master for me he absolutley stole every scene he was in, a fantastic choice to play the Renegade Time Lord. Overall the writing is spot on,the acting out of this world and effects are outstanding bravo to the BBC and Long Live The Master... er i mean The Doctor.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars brilliant end to a superior series

i knew when they announced john simms as the master there was gonna be something special his chemestry with david tennant was brilliant they couldnt be faulted on on such fine performances this is definately an ending no one will forget it amazes me how doctor who has stood the test of time ironic i know but each doctor brings something special to each series if anyone new watching the series enjoyed it then i thoroughly recommend going back to some of the vintage stuff maybe tom baker but if your feeling adventurous start from the beginning dont let
the black and white sceen put you off the stories are just as good anyway i think the new series with david tennant doesnt let the institution down so anyone who hasnt seen it yet i guarantee you will this it will convert you into a fan have a good view

I waited for ages for this to come out on DVD having missed the episodes on TV and I was not disappointed. Powerful music, great scripts and always that link with Doctor Whos gone by! I loved these and watched them straight away.

Some people have complained about the manner in which the Doctor returned, but what a message it gave out! As ever, Doctor Who leaves you wanting more, and Christmas can't come soon enough!

As I said, simply amazing. These 3 episodes are the best ive seen! The whole Master storyline was fantastic! How they tied it in to past episodes (Saxon is mentioned quite a bit through the past series i.e the xmas special when the command to shot down the xmas star comes from head of minestry of defence Saxon) was really good. and the watch from a few episodes previous.
The return of Captain Jack Harkness is brilliant! And with a major role in the 3 episodes. Cant wait for torchwood to start again) plus he adds some comedy to the episodes! Him and the doctor have a great rapour!
Martha, was good, not as good as Billie/Rose but the character was a major part to the story! And was played very well!
The music used in the episodes was really good. Vodoo child tied in well with the drums which feature in the episodes! And I cant decide by the siccor sisters, was brilliant. Simms, was brilliant in that scene. And it summed up the relationship between the doctor and the new master! and again it added comedy!

All in all the 3 epidsodes were amazing! Really great end to a great series! Bring on the Xmas special!

Speaking unprofessionally, WOW! The season so far has played off really well over coming many obstacles such as the Eurovision Song Contest, although I think the Doctor could have Flown the Flag better than Scooch did.

Having seen the three episodes that are on this DVD, I would have to admit that these have to be the most action packed, well written and entertaining episodes of the season. The plot twists that were clearly set up last year and maybe even since the beginning of the show, were just jaw dropping!!

Utopia brought back memories of classic who. I think it was running through a disused quarry that doubled as an alien planet that did it! At the end, cue plot twist, that I think most people who read spoilers had already worked out what was going to happen.

The Sound of Drums cleverly followed on as part 2 of 3. The Master has his foothold over the UK, his plan has been in action for nearly 18 months. With the Doctor's return the story evolves and the viewer finds themself literally on the edge of their seats.

Last of the Time Lords, full of drama, action, tears, emotion. Without giving too much away for those who may not have seen this series finale. The Doctor is losing the battle, his last hope is Martha Jones, but where is she, it's now one year on, is she about to reveal herself. She has followed the Doctor's instructions and spread the word. I have to admit to being a little disappointed by the way in which the Master is defeated, although makes sense, there could have been another way I'm sure. Apart from that minor blip in the story, this release gets a full five star rating.

Really really good episode. Not as much action as the previous series finale but bigger in different ways. Emotional and a struggle against the ultimate worldwide dictatorship.

At long last the Master is Back and if I may say better than all those who came before him.

In my mind the original master, although evil, was more into disguises and trying to steal people's bodies.

Now that he's been resurrected and has all his regenerations back he's unstoppable. Its a shame Derek Jacobi didn't have a longer part to play as the Master character but he still made a good go of it! John Simm plays the master as he is meant to be played - if Doctor was evil/mad what could he do and how far waould he go to make his name "Master" mean something.

A true masterpiece of a series finale (even if the Doctor had somewhat of a questionabl comeback). Also nice to see a timelord with proper taste in music ;o)
