  Another great Coen bro film!

This is a brilliant thriller film. I think the casting of Josh Brolin was a great move, he isnt very well known and in the film he looks like an average ( hot ! ) guy. This helps us the viewers relate to him an makes it scarier when he is being stalked by the killer. Javier Bardem who plays the tracker/ killer Anton was great in his role. He is one of the best 'bad guys'i have seen in movies in a long time. The fact that a captive bolt pistol . the type used for slaughtering cows, was his weapon of choice made his character even more terrifying. Loved this film and would recommend it to thriller junkies everywhere !!!

*In NCFOM a hunter stubles across a drug deal that has gone horribly wrong. He finds some money at the scene. Anton, a dangerous hit-man is hired to track the money down. In the process he destroys anyone that causes him any inconvenience, in a similar way the Terminator would! NCFOM seems to have mixed reviews and its fairly easy to pinpoint why.
*On one hand you have an intriguing film. Like other Coen Brothers films NCFOM is well made, well directed, well scripted, well acted and well shot. The film keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. It has that usual slightly vague feel similar to other Coen Brothers films.
* Just when you think that the Coen Brothers should make more crime related films NCFOM falls a little short. At the end i felt i must have overlooked something but it looks as though others feel the same. On reading other reviews it does suggest the film has some deeper meanings. Might have to watch it again just in case! Overall an enjoyable film well worth a watch.

  Exciting and Gripping

Llewelyn Moss stumbles upon the remains of a drug deal gone bad in the Texas desert including a case containing two million dollars. He decides the keep the money for himself but soon finds he has a dangerous on his trail.

Part crime drama, part western No Country for Old Men is undoubtedly the Coen brothers best movie since Fargo. Telling a cracking story and featuring a number of truly memorable performances this is one movie that truly deserves the critical acclaim it has received.

  Brilliant... up to a point

Loved this movie. Believe it or not, I hadn't read any reviews before watching it. It really is an excellent film with some amazingly tense scenes but, like so many other people, I thought the ending was a big anti climax. Please don't try to be an arty film critic and defend it. I fully understand the ending but, after such an intense two hours, it really is pretty flat.

I don't understand the oscars it won

The acting is good and i was actually enjoying it then half way through it just went downhill, it just didn't go anywhere. I like Tommy Lee Jones but is character looked as though he needed to retire, he was just hopeless he didn't do anything about anything, I was surprised aswell coz the coens bros films are usualy pretty good, Fargo was better than this but that didn't win anything. Overall quite a disapointment.

  Truly breathtaking.....

Well.....what a stunning piece of cinema. One of the best films I've seen. The Coen Brothers did a brilliant job with this film. It's wonderfully directed. The pace, the plot, the characters, the location, the story, every last detail was just right and it all just flowed together so well..

I understand why people might think the pace is a bit slow....but I don't think it would have worked so well if it had been done any other way. I also absolutely loved the script, I appreciate good writing, and this was just great.

I suppose I should mention the cast and the acting. Some exceptional performances, particularly by Mr Brolin. But the man who stole the show for me, as with a lot of people, was Javier Bardem as Anton Chiguhr. Absolutely mesmerising performace.....so calm, so...almost eerily peaceful, no matter what he was doing. And the scene in the gas station....pure genius.

And just for the record........I loved the ending.

All in all a wonderful film, a massive well done to the Coen Brothers and the Cast.

Excellant - Javier Bardem is on fire!

Javier Bardem is certainly the stand out star in this epic movie. I love films like this, and I was not let down with what was already, potentially a decent film.

After several months I finally got around to watching this and it really is a top notch film. It's slow in place, but not a boring pace. There's always something to think about and the mood of the film is just spot on.

Josh Brolin is great and of course you have Tommy Lee Jones who always catched the eye, but it's certainly Javier Bardem who is top of the pile.

The story is great, and certain scenes are just put together really, really well. I loved the beginning; for some reason I actually knew it was going to be a great film from the start.

Buy this film!

  Hardly any music, great.

Made all the more suspensful by not having any background music which in a lot of films tends to squash the dialogue. This film is ingenious, violent, frightening and just brilliant all round. The perfect film. Please let's have more suspense films WITHOUT MUSIC!!!

Brilliant film, the most frightening bad guy ever!

Fantastic film, one of the Coen brothers' best. Dramatic, suspenseful and unpredictable and very stylishly filmed and fast-paced.

Javier Bardem is one of the most frightening bad guys ever in a film, making The Terminator look like Krusty the Klown. Josh Brolin also gives a good performance. There are some shocking scenes and every scene with Javier Bardem is totally unnerving - a man who just DOES NOT CARE. Brilliant, see it to believe it.
