Do not trust anyone... Do not show emotion... Do not fall asleep...

The country is threatened by a mysterious epidemic that alters human behavior. When Carol (Nicole Kidman), a Washington D.C. psychiatrist, unearths that the origins of the plague are extraterrestrial, she attempts to warn others of her discovery.

With the help of her colleague and friend Ben (Daniel Craig), Carol examines further mysterious details of the conspiracy. She soon comes to the realization that her own son might hold the key to stopping an alien invasion and must fight to protect him.

Something nasty has fell to earth, somthing that attacks us while we sleep and turns us souless replecants (I think some of these work at my work place). So Kidman and Craig embark on a journey into a nightmarish world where the only way to stay alive is to stay awake. No one can be trusted, no one is safe!
This is a new take on the classic Invasion of the Body Snathers theme, and a pretty good one at that.
But this film never quite grips as it should. This could have been a heart stopping thriller, but what you actually get is a extended episode of X-Files.
Nicole Kidman is better than she has been in a long while, and Daniel Craig is as good as always.
The film is never dull, and the paranoia is built up well, but it just lacks that extra something to make it stand out from the rest of the recent outbreak of doomsday virus thrillers.
Also the ending is very weak, and not very well explained.
The movie has it's faults, but it does not stop this film from being a good night's entertainment, but don't compare it to the masterly 1950's and 1970's classic's.

A good remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers with a slight flavour of The X Files. Good performances, well filmed and well produced. Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman are great, the film keeps you guessing til the end. A must for all XF fans! Recommended.

ok so this is a remake of a remake of a remake but then again so is basically every vampire movie. the genre of the boby snatcher has been used often but this gives it a new twist.the acting from kidman is very good and keeps you engaged through out the movie .also it contains a decent blend of drama and action to stop this becoming the type of over the top affair i half expected.the casting of daniel craig as kidmans love smitten best friend was my only main flaw guess i am just used to seeing him in more substantial roles, but all in all a welcomed addition to my movie collection.

 stolen idea.

Yes... It's a very good film, and really quite well done.
...

...Watch it!

But I still think the idea of it has been done before... A LOT!
Does anyone remember the TV series? what was it called... oh yeah.. INVASION! Not to mention loads of other similar ideas in TV and film.
