They put him in a coma, now he's going to put them out of their misery.
Anthony Stowe (Van Damme) is a narcotics lieutenant - he's addicted to heroin, has a bad attitude, and everyone hates him, including his soon-to-be-ex wife. His ex-partner, Gabriel Callaghan (Stephen Rea), is working to become the new leader of the gangsters in local organized crime. Callaghan sends his men after Anthony, they shoot him in the head and he falls into a coma. Months later, he awakens with the idea of finishing off his former partner and becoming a better person, and better husband.

There were parts of this film that I enjoyed and then other parts I felt were a load of rubbish. The last half hour was very good and some very surprising moments throughout. Van Damme was very good in it. The wife was awful, as were others in the cast.
There have been some comments on why Muscles isn't making bigger and better movies. In my opinion he made this movie to help the industry, helping new and aspiring actors, directors and movie makers to get some experience and make a name for themselves. If that is the case then much kudos to Van the Man! The future of the industry depends on them all.
This film has what Van does best, fight scenes, not many but they're there, although no roundhouse kick.
If you like Van Damme and entertainment, rent this movie.

Why isnt Van Damme getting good movies anymore? He's not washed up? He still looks good, still has the moves and still packs a punch, its a shame that noone is giving him a decent role to play. One of the action heroes of yesterday, he deserves better. Avoid.
Maybe he's on his way back to glory days?

Average film from JCVD, good gritty action and story line. The only one to watch since Wake of Death, maybe he's on his way back to glory days?
