We hunted it into extinction....now it's hunting us!
When a meteor smashes into a local museum, the fury of a partially frozen, 40,000 year old mammoth is unleashed on a small country town. Under orders to contain the threat that the mammoth posesses at all costs, Special Agents Powers and Whitaker are given 17 hours to kill the mammoth or the entire town will be decimated. They recruit local paleontologist, Dr. Frank Abernathy, to help them hunt the creature down before its rampage of death and destruction gets to the outside world.
With the clock ticking and the body count rising, the only chance Dr. Abernathy has of saving his daughter and B-movie fanatic father is to help the agents destroy his lifes work.

People who give this movie 1 or 2 stars just don't understand the genre. They expect a horror movie, perhaps? Or a movie with great special effects? But people who love B-horror movies know what to expect when the movie stars a Zombie Mammoth that has been activated by Space Aliens to destroy MANKIND!
Mammoth is a great movie, full of little and big references to genre classics. The people who made this movie obviously love the genre a lot, and in turn have created one of the most entertaining B-movies of the past few years.
If you, like me, enjoy movies that are 'so bad they're good' you should definitely get Mammoth.
(If you like Summer Glau, you should also get this, she's really cute in it ':3)
One which Summer Glau would want buried in the mist of time, a disjointed load of twaddle. Terrible acting and a mouldy old corpse.
one of the worst films i have ever seen. i found out about this movie via bizarre magazine and i have always been interested in monsters movies. now, i have seen alot of these types of movies and this is by far the worst one. bad acting and terrible cgi. please just avoid this movie! i paid £10 on here for it and im so annoyed at myself that i did. so if your into monster movies, not matter how "hardcore" you are into them, aviod this like the plague!
Genuinely or arguably the worst film ever made, surely the final cut must have been handed to someone to view before a release and those who green lighted this should be shot. The acting is awful, the script is even worse and the CGI is just disgraceful. I could go on and on, but i won't, not worth any amount of money to buy/rent or the 90mins it grovels you for. Avoid.
I'm so glad I ignored the people who panned this film and got it anyway for the oddly beautiful Summer Glau. It's not meant to be a deep film but fun with a capital F. It achieves this in spades. As to the idea that Summer Glau would want to see this buried - I think she knew exactly what she was getting into. If you don't believe me, watch her scream and run like a girl. It's a real hoot and she obviously enjoyed making it. Why not 5 stars? Because it's not a deep film. Nevertheless, it is well worth watching for a laugh.
