A vehicle for Norman Wisdom that changed its comedic approach: the first two series were individual comedy plays scripted by an assortment of writers, the only constant being Wisdom's buffoonish 'Norman' character. The third series was a traditional sitcom, with Norman - singularly ineligible - just about holding down a job as clerk in a builder's office run by Robert Keegan. Neil McCarthy was Norman's flatmate, while Frances White played Keegan's daughter and Norman's obligatory love interest.
