The first 13 episodes were amazing. One of the best anime series I have ever seen. But once it got in the present day part of the series it was terrible. First first part was an action / adventure, then it turned into a supernatural mystery series, which tactics does 10x better. Would have given it a five stars if wasn't for the second half.
Would still recommend though purely for the first half, which is brilliant.

Loved the first half of this series, set around 1000 years ago and expected all 26 episodes to be set in this time. It is actually 13 episodes in ancient Japan and 13 set in modern Tokyo with the same characters transported through time. I was pleasantly surprised as I expected some of the mystery to disappear when moved to a more modern setting but remained engaging throughout. Characters are developed nicely and story well written. Only criticism would be the use of still frames in action sequences towards the latter part of the series which always (to me) smacks of 'running-out-of-budget' tactics. That is all though and otherwise another quality production from IG. For £14, you'll be hard pressed to find a much better series.
