Innocence Has A Power Evil Cannot Imagine.

Pan's Labyrinth is the story of a young girl that travels with her mother and adoptive father to a rural area up North in Spain, 1944 - after Franco's victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Post-war Fascist repression is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own.

Had heard good things about this film but when I heard it was subtitled I was a little worried as I though this may ruin the film.

This was not the case! This is a wonderful story which entails almost every emotion from trust to love to hate and fear.

Not only that but this has to be one of the most beautifully shot films we have ever seen grace our screens. The cinematography is just stunning and will keep you engulfed you from start to finish.

If you like a good fairy tale then buy this film. If you fancy something a little different this is a must have.

A truly magical film!!!

 Stunning. No ... seriously STUNNING.

I thought that this film derserved alot more than the 3 bafta awards it won. Guillermo del Toro takes you and your imagination on a complete emotional journey through Pan's Labyrinth. There are some shocky, shocky parts, some wows and some grit your teeth tightly bits, but after all that, one great ending.

The CGI and effects in this movie are completely flawless and actually transport you into the world on Ofelia, the young girl who discovers something of herself ...

... A MUST watch for foreign film lovers. The fim is in spanish with english subtitles.

Truely Enjoyed.

 Best film of 2006.

Fantastic looking movie combining a possibly imaginary fairytale with the story of insurgents in post-war Spain, where a young girl is taken to live with her Fascist stepfather (a brilliant performance by Sergi López). While there she meets a fawn and is given a series of tasks to complete. A children's story for adults, the sort of film you wish Gilliam could still make.

 Oringinal and Beautiful

I loved this film. Its a wonderful story of adventure, wonder, innocence and the fantastic power of the imagination. Aside from the story, its a beautful looking film with great perfromances.
