Some people have said this film is boring with no action and the acting is terrible. Well i dont no what film those people were watching but it's got all those things it's not boring plenty of action and well acted out. Some people just dont no a good film when they see one. It definately deserved a sequel.
i enjoyed it ....

a thought this was very good despite the bad reviews it was funny good action ....not as good as i hoped but it was good
This is not in the class as Marvels comic to film brilliance of the Spider-man Trilogy, Its sits with Ghost Rider as a missed oppotunity. The plot is thin, the cast are dull, apart from Cris Evans as the Human Torch, who is the only one who has a grip on how the film should be played. There super powers are not that Fantastic ! Given what they are, they never use there powers to there full potential. A perfect example is Mr Fantastic, who can stretch any part of his body. In the film he only stretches his arms and legs. If I had that power, streching my arms and legs would be the last thing on my mind, and they would have to re-name me Mr Tripod ! This is all pretty lame, but is aimed at kids more than adults, so if your a kid, add another star.
A few enjoyable action scenes connected by wooden acting and a dull script. Managed a sequel though, so some people must like it.
All in all.........rather pointless.

Let's face it the original theatrical cut was certainly no Spiderman or X2, but seeing this new version was an impressive 20 minutes longer, i was intrieged to see whether the rather whimsical plot had been fleshed out and improved. The answer, sadly is no. Most of the additional content is merely alternative scenes to ones that already exist in the film, and ludicrously have been added usually straight after the original scene, making it feel like you are watching the same scene over again only in a different setting... a kind of deja-vu effect. And you have been warned, the Mr Fantastic as Logan/Wolverine is very poor. The director must have got Mr Fantastic's abilities mixed up with those of Mystique in X-Men. All in all, if you own the original movie, leave it that way. Apart from the more exciting opening titles of the extended cut, this version has nothing more to offer.
An Improvement

I liked the Theatrical Cut... I didnt love it but it was fun. Its ridaculled by fans and movie goers alike but in the all honest truth its one of the more faithful comic book adaptations.
The new Extended Cut doesnt particualrly further the story but it does help every character develop further which I loved. I loved seeing how BEn comes to terms with his new appearence over the two hours. I wish someone else played Susan Storm. Yeah Jessica Alba is fun to look at but she cant act. The effects are top notch, the film establishes perfectly who everyone is and what makes them tick.
Id say this is a must for most fans but id recomend this easily over the Theatrical Cut and is worth buying a copy over the Spider-man 2 Extended cut which was pointless.
An improvement on the Theatrical Cut...

Average is the best word to describe the Fantastic Four movie, failing as it does to TRULY do justice to the comics. Far lighter in tone than 'Batman Begins' and the Spiderman and X-Men movies Tim Story (director of Barbershop and the horrendous 2004 remake of Taxi) seemed a terrible decision to direct this adaptation when compared to the likes of Chris Nolan, Sam Raimi and Bryan Singer. And Story is by far a weaker director than the aforementioned geniuses delivering a far more mainstream, child-friendly movie than previous Marvel outings. Having said that, however, there is still much to enjoy about the proceedings. The Thing and The Human Torch are portrayed perfectly with their on-going love/hate relationship and Chris Evans proves to be a suprisingly charismatic choice to play Johnny Storm. The action-packed bridge scene is well constructed and the whole affair is suprisingly well-humoured. On the other hand the special effects range from the good to the not-so-good, some of the 'comic' moments sit a little uneasily amongst the action, Jessica Alba seems to have been chosen for her looks rather than her acting and, worst of all, Dr. Doom isn't given the treatment he truly deserves. Changing his genesis from the original comic books is forgivable but Julian McMahon fails to infuse his portrayal with enough menace. But it's certainly not all bad, if you like the Marvel characters and want something a bit lighter than usual give it a spin, it's certainly a vast improvement on what I've seen of the unreleased original version (check out the hilariously bad ending over on YouTube). For this new 'extended' edition a further 20 minutes add some welcome character moments to the original with an amusing scene with Johnny Storm, an elevator and a number of attractive women, some further scenes with Alicia and Ben and a cameo from HERBIE (the robot from the comics and not the Lovebug!) Least successful is the extension of the Reed/Sue date scene with the added scenes dupicating existing dialogue and the awful Wolverine gag (quite terrible SFX) standing out like a sore thumb. So, certainly not as bad as critics will have you believe, and in this extended format a more rounded experience. Pity the UK got shafted with the extra features though, this is a single disc release unlike the R1 edition and only includes a brief featurette about the Silver Surfer to whet the appetite for the sequel. Still, at least it's cheap...
Good fun

A more light hearted comic book romp than some others but all the more fun for it. The characters of the 4 are spot on with their original 60`s counterparts although Dr Doom is sadly half the man he is in the comics.
It`s an easy, light hearted watch, very funny and with some great comic book action scenes.
Ten out of ten

Not on a par with Spiderman or the X-Men movies

The problem with the Fantastic Four is that the director and writer did not possess the understanding of the characters, especially of the villains, that Sam Raimi (Spider-man) and Bryan Singer (X-Men) has. This can been seen by the way the origin of Dr Doom has been completely changed from the comic version, a scientific experiment that was miscalculated and inevitably went wrong, to a corrupt billionaire who got caught in an accident.
Also, Dr Doom's back story was completely missed out, i.e. his parents were persecuted, primarily because they were gypsies, and eventually murdered by a Pogrom.
Simply put, the film is enjoyable but lack the depth and action you would have expected after watching Spiderman and the X-Men. I also feel that this film is substantially lighter than Daredevil - The Directors Cut.
I just hope that this franchise can be redeemed by "The Rise of the Silver Surfer" and possibly a "Fantastic Four 3".
