Don't trust the trailer or the DVD box which says this DVD has an aspect ratio of 2.35:1. It doesn't, the ratio is 1.77:1 meaning at least a third of the picture area has been cropped from the sides.
Momentum have done the same to THE BANQUET, so I shall be avoiding their DVD releases like the plague. You have been warned: Momentum lie to their customers, and disrespect the films they release.
Could have been much better

I had read the book and was looking forward to this movie. I began to get worried when it said 'losely based on the book.....', and boy was that an understatement! The film itself was OK, but I have no idea what was wrong with the book, I personally think that would have made a mcuh better movie!
Enjoyable Fun Romp!

If you like these types of films (medieval Films which are very few and far between these days)...you will enjoy this, not really a blockbuster I might ad, not much gore/sex in this but you won't mind..But if you fancy a bit of swashbuckling action there's plenty here to keep you entertained, good costumes, good sets..and a good use of locations.. and plenty of fight scenes.
well worth watching .........

this film was slated all round, i personaly did not think it was that bad, although in some scenes the sets look a bit dodgy, i liked the ending with the sword, ok for young teens.it does only really warrant 2 stars though.
Did they even read the book?

i was so looking forward to this film coming out, and then was horrified to finally watch it! Bad choice for the actos Colin Firth what the hell! If youv'e read the book dont even bother watching th film, its nothing like it should be. 97 mins of my life wasted.
Good Film

I really liked this film actually, but i am really into history so this is not suprising. It has a good story to it and good characters. Although, i do wonder how they were followed so well ... i mean they knew exactly where to look for them. So some bits are a little far fetched, but it didn't put me off.
My partner was also a little disappointed with the lack of fighting scenes. I think he wanted a little bit more blood shed. But it has to be remembered that this is a family film, so it does it's job well.
My advice: Well worth it.
I liked it

Worth seeing just for Aishwarya Rai alone:):):)
OK yeah, I do fancy her but no I didn't give the 4 stars because of that. I simply liked the film. Historical film just like King Arthur, Troy, First Night, Gladiator etc etc... the budget wasn't as big as the other mentioned but never the less the film had a decent story, good fight scenes.
If you like these sort of films watch it, if you don't then why bother...
