Isn't it insane to know that even if you have all 10 DVD Boxsets currently available of The Simpsons that you're still nowhere near completing the collection, in fact you're about half way! They're just wrapping up Season 19 stateside now and it has been confirmed for a 20th Season to start late September 2008.
Season 10 in one word: AWESOME!! In more than 1 word, not the very best season of the show (to me that honour falls to either season 4 or season 5) but out of the entire library of The Simpsons would probably rank up there in the top half of the list. This season sees Homer try to out-invent the great Thomas Edison, Marge experiences road rage in her new canyenero (c'mon you know that song!) Lisa struggles with the new girls more grown up philosophy of make up, high heels and school dances. Bart becomes the unsuspecting mother of a strange breed of lizards. Also Homer becomes bodyguard for Mayor Quimby and the kids and parents of Springfield fight it out over a new curfew.
Guest stars for the tenth season come thick and fast with the likes of Lisa Kudrow, William Daniels (the voice of K.I.T.T. from Knightrider), Isabella Rosselini, Ron Howard, Kim Basinger, Alec Baldwin, Jerry Springer, Regis & Kathy Lee, The Moody Blues, Dolly Parton Fred Willard, Dan Marino, Rupert Murdoch, George Takei, Elton John, Stephen Hawkin, Mark Hamill and the late great Phil Hartman (in his last ever appearance in The Simpsons before he was murdered).
As usual The Simpsons DVDs come jam packed with yummy extras, as usual there are DVD commentaries from creator Matt Groening show runners/executive producers/writers and directors like Mike Scully George Myer David Cohen, Ron Hauge, Peter Mitchels and others and of course the stars themselves like Yeardley Smith (the voice of Lisa) Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart, Nelson, Todd Flanders and more) and the man they call Luke Skywalker.. Oh I'm sorry, Mark Hamill (I always get those 2 confused!!) Aside from the brilliant commentaries you also have deleted scenes, animatics and the other usual Simpsons DVD fanfair. This is probably why it takes 8-10 months between boxsets, The Simpsons folks do spoil the DVD buyer.
The Simpsons Season 10 is a brilliant Season that proves that even after all these years The Simpsons is still one of the funniest shows on television. This boxset will tip you up to 226 episodes out of the God knows what number they'll finally finish on but at least 440(ish episodes), so congrats to all of us, we're about half way through when at this point with most shows we'd have it complete but thats just a testiment to just how good The Simpsons is and all I have left to say is roll on the Season 11 DVD!
I love the simpsons

Of all the seasons released so far this is probably the weakest (I dont count the first series, its pretty terrible and they were just finding their feet). The set ups, the gags, the delivery.....its just not quite there. We get all kinds out outlandish stories but nothing as sublime as Bart Vs Austraila or Two Bad Neighbours and you kind of feeling you are going through the motions.
But this series does have its moments like Homer to the Max & Viva Ned Flanders and ofcourse there are some excellent cameos.
Its a cliche but its one for the completists.

Is it just me or is The Simpsons gettin a little old? With more modern programmes like South Park and Family Guy I feel that way. I know season 10 was about 9-10 years ago but I dont know how people still find it funny.
One Of the Best Simpsons Package's in age's

The Simpsons S10 is probaly one of the most Funniest and best season's yet, it feature's classic episode's Like 'Mayored to The Mob' and 'Homer To The Max' and 'Thirty Minute's over Tokyo'.
The commentrys again are one of the highlight's of the package, which are intresting to listen too and occasionaly are funny, I have to agree the Simpsons S10 is one of the best season's and is a must have for any Simpson/Comedy Fan.
More classic episodes from Springfields finest

How anyone can say this is the worst season of the Simpsons is beyond me.
Some great episodes here and loads of really funny jokes, the best episode being when Homer decides to change his name to Max Power (he got it off a hair dryer).
A worthy addition to your Simpsons collection
Must Have For Collectors.

I just recently bought this last week & I like every episode on this DVD box-set. Some people have said that this series is what made it go downhill, but that's a load of rubbish in my opinion. There's some classic episode's on here that you can watch over and over again.
just keeps getting better

In my own opinion i think a couple of these episodes are great. But this could be down to i've seen season 1-8/9 so many times on sky and ch4 that anything that is a mr plow episode is a relief.
As most have said it is a bit of a turning point in the saga, but it's not an entirely unwelcome change.
Highlights inc: Mark Hamill, playing himself in a most obnoxious way, homer's max power song (but you mustn't touuuuchh!), the moody blues about to wail on homer and ned in vegas, and homer's sheer cowardice at giving a kidney away.
Low points being the episode in Japan that didn't quite work (the one in chin - season 16 is hilarious though), and the bible stories.
It was with Season 10, Mike Scully took reign of The Simpson being the showrunner. Sure, opinion is split on these episodes, with many fans calling them the worst The Simpson has to offer on it's 18 year reign, however you shouldn't be too quick to cast these episodes off.
Sure, there not all quality episodes & the gags are slowly becoming less funny, though they are welcome addition & will find a home in my DVD collection with the other 9 Seasons worth!
