Based upon Mark Millar's explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov - creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the Night Watch series - Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody's transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice.
25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock punching rut.
Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).
After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad's death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.
With wickedly brilliant tutors - including the Fraternity's enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman) - Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.

If your looking for an action packed thrill ride then this ticks all the boxes... I was entertained from start to finish! This film in my opinion is absolutely frikkin amazing!
I can't understand why anyone would not enjoy this film..? I can understand why women might not take to this film as enthusiatically as I have but come on guys... who the hell does'nt enjoy watching action packed fight scenes, extreme violence, and angelina jolie wearing next to nothing! I ask you!
oh... and that curving bullet thing is quality...! end of!
From the writers of a Fast & Furious sequel, I wasn't expecting much from this film - but it manages to be pretty clever for what it is. You get a twist that works, some cracking dialogue and a feel-good ending. There are only a few set pieces, but they are handled well - and the film smartly starts small and gets bigger, so there's no anti-climax when we get to the final action sequence.
This film is one of the best films of the year without a doubt. Angelina is awesome and James McAvoy plays the geek turned assasin fantasticly. Fast paced from start to finish with brilliant special effects a fantastic, though somewhat predictable, ending. However I cant help but feel that Morgan Freeman should have had a slightly bigger part in this movie.
All I need to say about this film is that it's based on a Mark Millar adult comic, and it's directed by Timur Bekmambetov, of Daywatch, and then you know all about it! Of course it's far fetched, of course it's extremely violent, and of course it's visually explosive! Acting is above average Hollywood standards, directing is just plain brilliant, the film works on just about every level. Sure, the comic book story will not be to everyone's taste, but if you just let the story wash over your head, settle back and enjoy everything else about this film, then it's great.
Rather than review the film as many others have, I thought I would briefly explain what you actually get with this Play.com Exclusive.
I originally thought that the DVD sleeve design was different to any other copy sold on the High Street or other online retailers. Whilst this is true, what isn't mentioned here is that the DVD comes with a nice thick cardboard slipcase, with the same cover design as the DVD and it also includes a Comic Book.
The DVD is the one disc version and also included with the DVD is a code that can be entered onto an Exclusive website to access behind the scenes info, videos, downloads, etc.
All in all well worth £9.99!
