  The Tale Of Despereaux

Quite a boring family movie with bland and uninteresting characters and no memorable moments. The story is quite flat and I would reccomend that you save your time and don't bother seeing this movie. I gave it 2 stars because it has some good animation which remains its only strong point.

This is a movie with a message

This is a great movie for kids and adults and we can all learn from this tale. The animation is beautifully rendered and the use of narration is very engaging and helps the younger among us to relate to the message and or reinforce it for those who have already understood. This film is not a Disney/ Dreamworks film and as such we are spared the rudeness apparent in Shrek, and the crassness of some other titles. If you have little ones that you read to then this film is for you.

A charming story of bravery, triumph over adversity, the hurt others can cause and also the hurt that we can call..And also how we can all make a difference.

Dare to be different...buy Despereaux!

If you're looking for another Shrek or Ice Age, then this isn't for you. What we have here is a story well told, without every situation building up to a hillarious one liner or sight gag. That is probably why this film is getting such poor reviews that really put this film down. OK, some of the animation isn't up to what we've had recently, but you soon forget that once you get into the storyline. This film actually is very dark in some places, and even though this is primarily a children's film, some young viewers might need mum or dad with their arm around their shoulders. Overall, not as bad as you might have heard.

Ery nice little movie with an all star voice over but lacks the finesse and quality of the disney and dreamworks heavyweights.

  I wanted to like it...

...and it is quite engaging, but I have started watching it twice now, & not managed to finish it... That says it all as far as I'm concerned. This one won't be a keeper.

It'll keep the young'uns glued to their TV.

Even those of us who are kids at heart :P

Unfortunately, though, this film isn't the mighty mouse of an adventure that I was expecting. It's fun, sure, and sometimes really funny, but there are far better rodent-related films available - Ratatouille and, of course, An American Tale, which, if you have not seen, I seriously urge you to get your hand on a copy of the film.

Overall, not a bad offering. Some great voice acting and a few thrilling moments...it just could have been wittier. The trailer does a good job of making it look hella funny, but the script ends up being pretty pedestrian.

(The alliteration was unintentional throughout this review :P)

  Good for kids

Saw this at the cinema just before christmas and thought would be good if you're a child. There's some humour for adults aswell of course.Dustin Hoffman and the annoying 'Harry Potter' girl lead the all-star voices and Sigourney Weaver narrates.
