Somewhat new to The Shield, I dug seasons 1-3 I personally thought season 4 was a bit weak but this one puts it back on top form.
The person below me said that there is missing footage from the season finale, this may answer a question I had. I watched it last night and unless I totally blacked out at some point, I did not see Danny "address the father of her baby".
So if that is indeed the case I'm knocking 2 stars off of the DVD, not the show.
Great Season, rubbish dvd

For anyone thinking of buying this dvd, the final episode has "20 mins of of important narrative footage" missing. It's contained on the R1 release. Why not on R2? American release is full screen though. They should have the uncut R1 combined with the widescreen R2 then I'd be a happy bunny. Not too much to ask is it?
This aside though, this season is a brilliant powerful piece of television. A must watch if you've seen the previous four seasons, and if you haven't, watch them first, then watch this. And yes, Forest is brilliant. Season gets a five *. Dvd brings it down to 3*.
Just brilliant

This is the best season i've seen so far (6 on pre-order lol), my jaw honestly dropped with some of the shocking moments, and also the quality of the acting on display. Glenn close was superb as Rawlings, but Forest Whitaker's character steals almost every scene he is in. The only shame is the reduction in the amount of episodes, but this does not effect the pacing in any-way, and the quality grows and grows. I recommend this to anyone and everyone
