Continuing directly after season 5, The Shield sees Vic and the Strike Team are distraught over Lem's death. Shane has been overcome by guilt and becomes reckless and suicidal. Kavanaugh refuses to let the case die and resorts to planting evidence and coercing witnesses to lie about the Strike Team. Dutch and Claudette begin to suspect his integrity. Vic learns from Claudette that the Chief plans to force him into early retirement, and vows to wreak bloody vengeance on Lem's killer before losing his badge. Claudette learns that the Barn could be shut down if no improvements are made by the time quarterly crime statistics are released.

Ive always loved this show, i have every season and have loved them all.
However this one i found dissapointing, its good but not as good as the rest, everything is very dragged out and it almost loses its gritty feel which i have come to expect from The Shield.
Overall good show just not the best season.
Brilliant

I have watched The Shield from the start after hearing good things.........I have been so captivated by every episode since the first one that i cant wait for the next one. I have leant the previous seasons to a friend who describes it as a brilliant series and he is hard to please when it comes to tv. If you have neever seen this programme, start at season 1 and enjoy
Bad is so good

The Shield is by far the best Cop Show out. You will have to buy all the series on DVD because once you've watched one episode you won't stop. It's addictive so get ready to be hooked. Vic and the boys are so bad, but The Shield is So Good.... I can't wait for my next fix!!!!
