Flight Of The Conchords: Season 1

I tuned in to this more by luck than judgement.... became hooked and had to buy this DVD. These guys are just so naturally funny and the song writing is just spot on, they sing the way you think..... taken over from the Mighty Boosh as my favourite alternate comedy!

Have not purchased yet, but will be very soon. Ive seen all the episodes on virgin tv on demand. I couldnt believe i had'nt seen it before and why everyones not talking about it. Its genius. The real reason i wrote this review though is to let people know that its absolutely nothing like the crappy mighty boosh, as other reviewers have suggested. The only similarity is that they break into song every now and then, that is it. The boosh is over the top and plain stupid, where as flight of the conchords is subtle and pure genius. If i was to compare it to another tv program, it would be extras or the office. Buy now. You will not be dissapointed

What immediately strikes you about this show is that it has some great comedy songs, but what really endears you by the end are the central and supporting characters, Jemaine and Bret are great at playing off each other comically, but the real winners are Murray, the most inept manager ever (or is he ?) and Mel, the ultimate obsessed fan (who is always there nearby wherever the guys are), between these four and a sprinkling of other re-appearing characters you get a feel of a thouroughly loved show that must have been really fun to make, this shows on the screen and makes this one of the great comedies this year, watch out for season 2.

First time I watched it I thought it was good then the more I watched it I realised it was best thing ever. The episode: The Actor, I quote constantly. Murray is the funniest part of the whole series. The songs are a cheeky bonus, the actual acting parts are the best.

Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Black Books, IT Crowd, Spaced. Theres a lot of outstanding tv comedy progs out there Flight Of The Conchords has to be up there with the best of them.
Its as one reviewer put it "better that The Boosh" and thats saying something.
I've found myself watching it over and over and still think it immensely funny. not just 5 stars but a whole load more.
Also if you like this get Eagle Vs Shark.
