...is just one out of the heap of quirky, funny lyrics of the Flight Of The Conchords songs (this one taken from a track where they dress up as robots & claim to have taken over humanity!)
I brought this DVD having never seen an episode before, & im oh-so glad i did as it is really something special. Flight Of The Conchords is about two New Keland kiwis that have moved to New York & try to make it big in the music industry. The storylines of each one of the 12 episodes basically consists of some kind of arguement between the two & then a funny song or paradoy of some sort. It may sound repetative & boring, but the two Conchords along with the hilarous supporting cast (notably their superfan stalker Mel & useless manager Murray) are amazingly funny, i would say in a way that really can't be done justice with words, unless you've seen the programme.
Although I wouldn't say it's completely unique & unlike nothing i've ever seen before. Infact it has been critisized as being 'overdone'. I can't argue with that considering the likes of The Mighty Boosh & The Office & about a billion other programmes that use the same style of slow paced, drawn out, filled with awkward pauses comedy. However as i previously said the hilarity of the programme plays out for itself, with hilarious results so it still gets five stars.
I would label Flight Of The Conchords as possessing the Marmite effect- being that you either love it or hate it. But if you're still not convinced i recormmend that you go ahead & buy it as i am very confident in saying im sure it's more likely you will love it, as apposed to being in the small minority that do hate it.
I will finish this much too long & over-rambled review by quoting one of the ultimate best lyrics. 'You're so beautiful, like a tree or a high-class prostitute.'

Murray, Jermaine and Brett, absolute genius characters, with more depth and intelligent writing than boosh but kind of along the same lines, also the music here is much better than the boosh (though the mighty boosh suits its style of music.) Me and a friend visited New York off the back of this DVD its that good, just watched it, went online and booked the holiday.genius.buy it.

An excellent series boasting a cast of strong characters who each play off one another to make the comedy eve more riveting!

Literally will have you laughing till your sides hurt and some sort of liquid comes out of your nose, a must have for fans of Billy Bailey, The Mighty Boosh and the Office, it's like a delicious mix and adaptation of all those greats!!

Plus the musical talent of these guys is awesome. Lyrical genius'

Some perfect one liners that will have you and your mates quoting for ages.

Top 10 DVD Reviewer

I tuned in to this more by luck than judgement.... became hooked and had to buy this DVD. These guys are just so naturally funny and the song writing is just spot on, they sing the way you think..... taken over from the Mighty Boosh as my favourite alternate comedy!

What could be funnier than two simple Kiwi's and their extremely gullable manager living and trying to forge a career as musicans in New York? The funniest comedy since The Office. You can't fail to enjoy this DVD... absolute GENIUS!!!

I defy anyone who was a fan of the Office or Extras to watch a scene with Jermaine and Murray and not laugh out loud. Best comedy since the Office. Absolute genius.

I really can't understand why I'm having to write this. After all, how many times have you ever felt you've discovered genius comedy?? Never, that's right. Usually the most talented comedians are picked up at an early stage by the recognised comedy mainstream like BBC2 and Channel 4. So how come I stumbled across this gem on BBC4 in the middle of the night?? Let me get straight to the point - this show is absolutely fantastic! These are a couple of New Zealanders who are comedy naturals and excellent musicians to boot. After watching a couple of episodes I simply had to buy the series on DVD and have watched all 12 episodes in 48 hours and I'm begging for more!! The fact that HBO signed these guys should tell you something, they don't usually throw money at rubbish and they certainly haven't here! I recommend you buy this DVD on a whim, the other reviewers share my views which show the odds are in your favour!! If you're more carefull then try to catch an episode on BBC4, then buy it and impress your friends that you're on the cutting edge of new comedy! It's rare that I get this enthusiastic about anything but it's simply tragic that this is overlooked by the mainstream channels. Get it, enjoy it then thank me when you've stopped laughing (if you ever do!).

This comedy makes me laugh through out. The two main characters are amazingly dead pan and dry. The plot is subtle and the whole thing is topped off with amazing music sequences. The guy who gave it one star coz it used similiar jokes and most of their original songs, get a grip! Most of the jokes and performances (as in acting) are fresh and brilliant.
