( Eastern Promises follows the mysterious and ruthless Nikolai (Viggo Mortensen), who is tied to one of London's most notorious organized crime families. first in 'a history of violence' and now in 'eastern promises': i'm glad he's only an actor 'playing' a bad guy. imagine...
good movie, good actor, good fun.

An excellent portrayal of the Russian Mafia, topped by a star performance by Viggo Mortensen.
A great twist at the end provides a good ending to a film which is fairly weak throughout with the weak and un-believable acting by Naomi Watts.
All round a good watch - not a classic!

Not a classic but worth a fiver.Vigo is hardly recognisable in this film , not sure my wife would still fancy him after this !. Plot somewhat predictable but still worth a watch.
