How To Lose Friends And Alienate People Stars Simon Pegg as Sidney Young, a disillusioned intellectual who both adores and despises the world of celebrity, fame and glamour. His alternative magazine, Post Modern Review, pokes fun at the media obsessed stars and bucks trends, and so when Young is offered a job at the diametrically opposed conservative New York based Sharps magazine its something of a shock! It seems Sharps editor Clayton Harding is amused by Young's disruption of a post-BAFTA party with a pig posing as Babe. Thus begins Sidney's descent into success - his gradual move from derided outsider to confidante of starlet Sophie Maes - and a love affair with colleague Alison Olsen, that will either make him or break him.

 BARGAIN!

I'm quite surprised by the mixed reviews because I really loved this film when it came out in the cinema. Simon Pegg is great, Megan Fox is really funny and Gillian Anderson steals every scene she's in! It's definitely a bargain at £5!

I was looking forward to this as i think simon is great but no funny bits whatsoever. And dunst was really cardboard acting.
Not funny in the least and talk about time slowing down when watching it, sooooo many long boring bits.... My husband and i couldn't wait for this horrendous film to finish...
I cannot believe how many 4 & 5 stars this thing is getting!!!!!!
Please please don't waste your money on this dribble.

 Simon...wha you doing?

Don't usually write reviews BUT when I saw this getting 4 stars + I jsut had to step in...

...there really is no point in this film what-so-ever ... the 'jokes' and 'hillarious situations' Pegg get's himself into are just, well for a lack for a better word, brainless and uncultivable...

...and I should know, I got a film degree...

...this seems like a role Pegg did just to get himself more expsoure (and £££) in Hollywood. I don't really know the guy but he should just stick to his "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy".

Silly film.

 Comical class

I watched this a couple of nights ago and thoroughly enjoyed this. It is a pure Simon Pegg classic. However, it is also so different on every level.

There are several love interests for Mr Pegg, one of them is the gorgeous Megan Fox and the other is Kirsten Dunst (also gorgeous!!). This alone makes the film.

For someone trying to get into the world of celebrites, this is pure genius. And for 6 pounds, it is well worth the money - got to love the best line said by Simon Pegg's character. He tells his father that Brad Pitt is not a cave in Yorkshire!!
