The Mummy franchise is back with the third chapter in the adventure series, The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor.

Brendan Fraser reprises his role as explorer Rick O'Connel and is joined by Luke Ford, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Maria Bello and John Hannah!

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell (Luke Ford) is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents - Rick and Evelyn O'Connor (Brendan Frase and Maria Bello).

  • Deleted And Extended Scenes
  • Feature Commentary With Director Rob Cohen

This film is just awful. It literally has no redeeming features.

The dialogue is awful. The characters you know and love form the first movie have been turned into rubbish cliches of themselves (ooh, Jonathan's the cheeky one, lets make sure no-one gets to forget he's the funny one by giving him all the funny lines we wrote in our lunch hour) . There is one unintentionally hilarious scene in particular. How do they get around the fact that the main female lead from previous movies isn't reprising her role? lets just get the rest of the cast to pretend it's the same person. It just doesn't work. She doesn't do the character justice or take her in any new directions. Not her fault, just bad script.

Jet Li should have been a selling point, but quite how he can go from something like Hero to this tripe is just a bad career move.

I've only ever walked out of one movie at the cinema and that was Van Helsing. The only reason I didn't leave during this film is that the previous films were so much fun and didn't take themselves too seriously and were well written. I just thought it would get better but it never did. It's for films like this that play should let you have a "no stars" option.

Oh, and the Yeti's look awful.

Yeah..yeti's....

After the disappointment of The Mummy Returns, and it's shambollick spin off The Scorpion King, this series looked like it was going to be laid to rest. Eight years have passed since Brenden Frasia last fought the undead, so now after the long break it's time this series was resurrected from it's tomb.
The good news is now under a different director (Rob Cohen, The Fast and The Furiouse, Stealth) the film has an added much needed breath of fresh air. Although some of the cast have changed this is still the same action packed adventure we came to expect from this entertaining Indianna Jones wannabe series! The added bonus is having Jet Lei as the Mummy and the China locations are truly amazing. The film is full of brilliant action packed sequences. But the Mummy series always had one major stumbling block, and that was with the CGI over load, and although the CGI has improved greatly since the last adventure, some of it does look very cartoonish, that does destract from the otherwise great adventure.
Although in parts some of the CGI is a little bit of a let down, in other areas it is the direct opposite and is amazing.
This is a cracking adventure, and whilst it will never be a classic,it is briliant popcorn entertainment, and is actually the best in the series so far.
A great action packed adventure that puts the series back on track!

Please, please, please don't believe the negative reviews about this film.
To me and anyone I know who has seen it, there's nothing wrong with it at all. Good story-great visuals. The very, very worst thing you could say about it was that it was a tiny, tiny bit corny-but only as much as (if not less than) the first film. The people slating this film must only be trying to sound cool. To me, the film is better than the previous two. Give it a go-you won't be let down!
