Episode 16 "Bored She Hung Herself" caused controversy in the US when it was aired as there appeared to be evidence that the content lead to at least one death.
Apparently that episode was removed and has never been seen again.
It was not sold to ITV in the 60's/70's - it was never repeated in the US and was also missing from the R1 set.

This second season of Hawaii Five-O is where the series finds it's feet. The quartet of Steve McGarrett, Dan Williams, Chin Ho Kelly and Kono continue to combat crime in the Hawaiian islands. The stories are gripping throughout and the filming continues to make the most of the fantastic Hawaiian locations and scenery. The end credit sequence now features the more familiar ocean boat race scenes which would feature in the following 10 seasons, instead of the night time cop car chase of series one. Many guest actors feature in this season whom you will recognise from other series' or films.
There is a distinct nostalga for series' of this era where writing and acting was in a different class. Hawaii Five-O does not disappoint, and anyone who likes the cop series of the sixties and seventies cannot fail to like this...
Again, as with series 1, the episodes are re-mastered ensuring that the picture quality is higher than when originally seen on TV (when networks often used heavily scratched and dull copies).

Back to the days of men with slick haircuts and even slicker suits, offices with typewriters instead of computers, and proper plotting of storylines
If you hanker for all the above, and more, then don't hesitate to join messrs Lord, MacArthur, Fong & Konu in the 2nd series (don't forget series 1 if you missed it) and just wallow in that end of 1960s/into the 1970s tv
This was pre-Magnum Hawaii with many storylines reflecting concerns of the time - the environment, gun crime, war, thieving petty and otherwise. McGarratt could always be relied on to sort it out, frequently on his own (sometimes you'll be wondering what the rest of 5-0 did all day!) Not sure what you'd like for Christmas - put it on your list, you'll love it!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars "Book Him Danno"

In my opinion the best cop show of the 70s since "Naked City", Five -0 was one of the longest running cop shows from U.S.A. The colour is still great on both series 1 and 2 which have so far been released. Great locations and a good cast make this still a very watchable series today. A score which is known throughout the world and great acting from all. Sadly all lead stars excepting Danno have now left us. Please note that series 2 has an episode missing, "Bored She Hung Herself" which nobody can give a reason why. Buy it now for a reminder of past great television.
