Back To The Future (1985): 17 year old Marty McFly got home early last night. 30 years early.
Michael J. Fox stars as Marty McFly, a typical American teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a plutonium-powered DeLorean "time machine" invented by slightly mad scientist Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd). During his often hysterical, always amazing trip back in time, Marty must make certain his teenage parents-to-be, meet and fall in love otherwise he'll never be born...
Back To The Future - Part 2 (1989): Getting back was only the beginning.
A visit by Marty and Doc Brown to the year 2015 seems to resolve a few problems with the future McFly family. However, when they return home, they discover someone has tampered with time and Hill Valley, 1985; they must once again get back to 1955 to save their future.....
Back To The Future - Part 3 (1990): They've saved the best trip for last... But this time they may have gone too far.
Mary Steenburgen joins the cast for this rousing conclusion to the popular series. Stranded in 1955 after a freak burst of lightning, Marty must travel back to 1885 to rescue the Wild West Doc Brown from a premature end. Surviving an Indian attack and unfriendly townsfolk, Marty finds Doc Brown is the local blacksmith. But with the Doc under the spell of the charming Clara Clayton, it's up to Marty to get them out of the Wild West and back to the future...

As a kid growing up in the 80s, the first Back to the Future was one of the movies that defined my childhood. I remember seeing it in the cinema in '85 and then recording it on VHS and watching over & over again.
The pairing of Michael J. Fox & Christopher Lloyd was a stroke of genius, they play off each other superbly. These are the performances that I will always associate with them. Crispin Glover is perfectly cast and pulls off just the right level of quirkiness that he has become known for and Lea Thompson is simply adorable.
Despite it's impending 25th anniversary the movie still holds up so well. The effects are fantastic, the script is pin sharp and the plot is incredibly well-conceived.
Part II, builds fantastically on the intricate plot with some fantastic set-pieces and Part III ties things up nicely with a wonderful Wild West setting.
This is one of those timeless family movie trilogies that I can't wait to watch with the kids.
The Back to the Future Trilogy is undoubtedly one of the must fun and exciting trilogies ever! After it all you feel sad that its over and you just want more!!
BACK TO THE FUTURE 1: 5 Stars *****
An amazingly fun and exciting adventure that kicks off one hell of a trilogy. Very clever.
BACK TO THE FUTURE 2: 4 and a half Stars **** 1/2
Excellent, but not quite as good as the first.
BACK TO THE FUTURE 3: 5 Stars *****
A fitting end to the trilogy, and possibly my favorite because of the Wild West setting.
Christopher Lloyd is brilliant, and so is Michael J Fox (shame he didn't do much else due to his Parkinson's Disease)
9.6/10

Absolute classics! Spielberg's best work! Fantastic imagination and beautifully produced. Each film is as good as the one before, be sure to look out for the small cleaver features put into each film eg the Eastwood revine sign at the end of part 3. These cleaver little touches show the care put into each film and it makes all the difference. Will anyone ever tire of these timeless classics?
