Playcom are still sending out incorrectly boxed sets for Roots Next Generation as are virtually everybody else. After waiting so long for these episodes to be released what a sheer disappointment the manufacturers have made this massive mistake. Lets hope that the correct inserts will be issued promptly....
5* series, 0* packaging

Great series, but for some reason Warner Brothers have made yet another stupid mistake and issued the set with covers from Roots - The 30th Anniversary, and not the Next Generations. After the fiasco with the Ultimate Superman Collection (Region 1) last year, I bet they won't be replacing them any time soon either. I'm still waiting for a replacement for my Superman 3 disc a year down the line.
This is a MUST buy - Wonderful Masterpiece

I am recommending "Roots: The Next Generation" to everyone that I know. This is a moving second half to "Roots" (1977) and also a great continuation of the fabulous story (Based on reality) of slavery and freedom, through the eyes of Alex Hayley (Authour of the book).
An exceptional masterpiece - I have waited years for this moment and will be purchasing my copy as soon as I am possibly able.
For anyone who reads this review, get your copy, you will not be dissappoined, the acting is also astounding, with many faces which you will recognize from the movie industry.
Very powerful, very moving and extreemly educational, especially to any person of Black African decent.
Happy watching!

This is a brilliant show and a worthy sequel. We meet Malcolm X amongst others and the final episode where Alex Hayley is using computers to trace his ancestors is very moving! I'm really glad this is out now I have been waiting for ages!
fantastic, an absolute master piece if a bit dated now.
