In Arizona in the late 1800's, infamous outlaw Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) and his vicious gang of thieves and murderers plagued the Southern Railroad. When Wade is captured, Civil War veteran Dan Evans (Christian Bale), struggling to survive on his drought-plagued ranch, volunteers to deliver him alive to the 3:10 to Yuma, a train that will take the killer to trial.
On the trail, Evans and Wade, each from very different worlds, begin to earn each other's respect. But with Wade's outfit on their trail - and dangers at every turn - the mission soon becomes a violent, impossible journey toward each man's destiny.

i rented this film, and there is no way i would buy it.
the trailers promise an action packed western, where as the reality is that majority of it is talking.
the storyline is very poor too.
take a prisoner to a train....
DON'T MISS THIS TRAIN!

Number 1 DVD Reviewer
This has to be one of the best westerns since The Unforgiven. Also not forgetting that this is also a outstanding remake of the old 50's western. Crowe and Bale are amazing as the leads, but it would be a crime to forget Ben Foster (30Days Of Night and Hostage) as the head bad guy, who really gives a chilling performance and steals every scene , he is without a doubt a actor to watch in the next five years. The story is great highnoon kind of stuff and makes you realize what made the westerns great. I'm not really a big fan of the western movie's, but this film had me gripped.
A suprising and brilliant western.
One to watch!
Proof that Westerns are back

3:10 to Yuma is quality. Gone are the sentimental storylines and happy endings. The Frontier of the USA was a harsh place to survive not glamorous. At last this has been acknowledged by one of the better genres of film.
Russel Crowe (Ben Wade) and Christian Bale (Dan Evans) are excellent as usual. They are two men similar in nature but socially different. Wade is willing to take what he wants and Evans is willing to sacrifice for what he wants. In a deceptively simple way there is a greater respect for these two extremes than all the other scheming and dealing of other characters. At first it appears clear cut, good guy and bad guy - black and white. Never the less, aspects of their characters' overlap, faith, loyalty, family and as a result ideas of "right" and "wrong" become questionable. After all, "Even bad men love their mommas"
