In director Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited, three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other - to become brothers again like they used to be. Their "spiritual quest", however, veers rapidly off-course, and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins. Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Jason Schwartzman star in this film about their adventure and their friendship.

Funny, touching and beautifully shot. If you liked the Life Aquatic and Royal Tenenbaums you're sure to love it. If you're not normally a fan of Wes Anderson it's still worth a look. Enjoy!

Found this film to be Engaging, Fun with a Vibrant energy to it, which is partly down to the location used.
The story revolves around 3 brothers who have drifted apart and are trying to be whole again.
The film moves along at a good pace, and like I mentioned India is used as a background to perfect effect.
    All Aboard.

The Darjeeling Limited is Wes Anderson at his best. An auteur director known for his kooky characters and tight script, this showcases the best of his talents as we follow three estranged brothers on a quest for enlightenment across India.
The landscapes are beautiful and play out as Anderson's love letter to India - a tribute to Satyajit Ray, one of the great Indian directors and a true inspiration for Anderson himself.
The three leads, played by Anderson regulars Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson, and with Adrien Brody to complete the ensemble, are pitch-perfect and the banter between the brothers is so familiarly accurate (especially the allegiances formed when arguments breakout) that anyone with brothers will experience deja vu.
Thoroughly recommended and the best of Anderson's work to date, The Darjeeling Limited is simply great, and to quote the caption on the case, "I love this movie!"

I went to see this film off the back of initially seeing, and really enjoying The Royal Tenenbaums a few years ago. I wasn't particularly familiar with Wes Anderson's other works, but I am a massive Owen Wilson fan and liked the look of the Darjeeling Ltd. This film is now, simply one of my favourite films - full stop!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect after hearing a fairly poor review by Mark Kermode (culture show) a few days before I was due to see it. This film just goes to show that I should never again listen to the views of an arrogant, know-it-all, head-up-his-own-arse 'film critic'!
Anyway, I loved the film from start to finish, and was totally immersed in the setting and emotion of the 3 characters' soul searching discovery. It's also hilarious, as ever with the obvoius jokes and gags expertly avoided, and replaced with the quick-witted comedy now familiar to me of Wes Anderson's films.
The day after seeing the film I immediatly bought the soundtrack which is a great listen, and instantly transports you back to the film!!
Since then I have invested in Wes Anderson's directorial works such as 'The Life Aquatic', 'Rushmore' and 'Bottle Rocket', all of which are great.
In summary, if you've enjoyed any Wes Anderson films on any level before, Darjeeling Ltd. in my opinion tops them all.

Plus I now have a new found desire to travel to India, which I didn't have before!! - Brilliant!
