- Short film - 'Hotel Chevalier'
- Behind the scenes documentary
In director Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited, three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other - to become brothers again like they used to be. Their "spiritual quest", however, veers rapidly off-course, and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins. Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Jason Schwartzman star in this film about their adventure and their friendship.

Well I am watching as I type - and it is a sad state of affairs when you are so bored you switch on the laptop!
The beginning is very boring and whilst the scenery is outstanding and there is an underlying humour (which was not personally a rib tickler for me) I appreciate that others may like it a lot more.
I liked the indie edge to it, and nice to see characters out of their stereotypical roles.
Not my cup of tea I am afraid!
Enjoy if you like this type of thing.
A good movie!

Wes Anderson's films aren't for everyone, but if you liked Bottle Rocket, you'll like this one. A good storyline, subtle humour & nice soundtrack. Owen Wilson is great (as usual!) & with Adrien Brody & Jason Schwartzman, very good as 3 distant brothers who set out on a spiritual train journey (that doesn't quite stay on the rails!) through richly coloured India. Give it a try ...
You have to have as long attention span for this one. I must admit I was bored for long periods, the start is terrible and many left the cinema after about 30 minutes. However it did pick up as time went on and I was glad I stayed. Nowhere near 5 stars in my opinion. Stick it through and you won't be too disappointed.
