 AMAZING!!!

I fell in love with this television series as soon as I saw the first episode! absolutely incredible! I am now currently hooked on the second series (showing on BBC1 on Saturdays at 19.15!).

Jonas Armstrong makes a gorgeous Robin and with Sam Troughton as his exteremely loyal sidekick, Much, manages to wreak all sorts of havoc on the Sheriff (Keith Allen-making a convincing evil guy you'll love to hate). Richard Armitage makes an extremely convinging, yet fatally sexy, bad guy as the Sheriff's right hand man, Guy of Gisborne and Lucy Griffiths is fabulous as Robin's true love, Marian (although how she manages to resist Guy's advances is anybody's guess!). With other fantastic actors such as Harry Lloyd (as Will Scarlett), Joe Armstrong (as Allan A Dale), Gordon Kennedy (as John Little) and Anjali Jay (as Djaq) making up the rest of Robin's band of outlaws, this truly is an incredible version of the Tale of Robin Hood.

To many modern day issues mixed within the stories

This new series of Robin Hood is very slick but unfortunately let down by the fact that it tried to bring modern day issues into it's stories, thus losing some of the appeal of what makes Robin Hood entertaining. The whole reason for watching this type of thing is to lose yourself within after all, not be reminded of what's still happening in the world today. Therefore the score of three stars is what I would award.

Fortunately the second series is by far the better of the two, getting back to the type of incidents that were "perhaps" happening in the medieval era & making the whole second series seem far more entertaining.

The 80's version of Robin Hood is by far the most entertaining when compared to this new 2006 version. Thankfully the 2007 series 2 more than makes up for it.

Superb Legend of Robin Hood series!!

In my opinion out of the vast majority of the Robin Hoods out there this is by far the best. It is witty enjoyable and fast paced. It is certainly suitable for all ages. And when aired on TV this reflected in the 7pm airing time.
The casting is just right Robin is supposed to be young he has just returned from the crusades Jonas Armstrong is perfectly suited. Marian (Lucy Griffiths) is the model woman she stands up for what she thinks is right and isn't afraid to put herself in the line of fire so to speak.
The sheriff is suitably horrid and Robin is perfect as the young charming and cheeky rebel. As most BBC shows are good you expect this to be too and you arent disappointed.
Tuck was brilliant and a great diversion from the usual fat drunkard he is usually represented as. But the one downfall is that he was so much like Djaq in the cleverness and chemistry department that is felt like the only reason they'd made him intelligent beyond his time was to fill the gap she left.
My favourite character being Will. I just think he was cast extremely well and he is such a great actor. But that is my personal opinion. There is so many other characters to review.
But you really need to watch this yourself. To experience the brilliance of the whole thing!!
The BBC have tried to give the classic tale of Robin Hood a modern touch with this new dramatisation. All 3 series of this were enjoyable as each other. After each episode it left me wanting more and more. In which I gave in by watching another episode. The Cliff hangers are certainly in the right place and im pretty sure you will feel the same way as I.
The storyline it self as somewhat wondered from the path as the normal story of the legend of Robin Hood but still keeps in character with elements of the normal Robin hood. And certainly the elements that we all know and love. And even though if you find you are disappointed. And somewhat annoyed that it hasnt followed the traditional story. Dont be annoyed!! This storyline is superb. Well thought out and thoroughly enjoyable. It gives a complete new perspective.. A perspective that is just excellent gripping and honourable of the Robin Hood name.
I recommend this profoundly!! 5/5!!!
