Red Dwarf: The Bodysnatcher Collection - Series 1-3 (4 Discs)

Don't mistake the title of my review as negative. These 3 "remastered" series were clearly done as a joke. I don't know if you want to call it a homage to, or a spoof of, the 1997 remasters of the original Star Wars Trilogy. Not many people got the joke at the time, and there's probably a few people that still don't. Either way, it was a bloody good joke.
Aside from that, I wasn't entirely happy with these remasters. The extra effects didn't gel with the original print at times, but, same could be said with Star Wars. End of the day, it was a cheap, throw-away joke, and I was surprised that it made it to VHS, and now DVD. Guess they knew the hard-core fans would splash the cash on them. Personally, I couldn't see myself being willing to spend more than 16 quid on one joke, no-matter how many discs/series were in the package.

Personal preference: Get the original Series 1-3

Originaly i bought this just for the episodes but after working my way through them i realised how much extra bonus material there was worth watching. Some of the interviews seem a bit dated but other than that they have crammed alot into this dvd collection. the presentation is nice with the dvd booklet. it works out cheaper to buy the series individually but this collection is alot of fun and will leave avid fans drooling.
