Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett's magnificent partnership became a cherished British institution. Their Christmas Specials were particularly eagerly awaited and, for many, they were the highlight of the festive television schedules.
The Christmas Specials featured extra special guests - such as Elton John, David Essex and Elaine Paige - and great Christmas fun, as well as the regular Two Ronnies fare of the opening and closing news headlines, party, allotment and pub sketches and Ronnie Corbett's shaggy dog monologues.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to see these shows released, and they are excellent. But shouldn't the Christmas shows be released as extras to the DVDs of the series? And calling it "Complete" is cheekier than one of their sketches - each episode may be complete, but they did far more than these few.

Bought mainly out of nostalgia, fond memories as a child at Christmas, this dvd is wonderfully funny, featuring lots of wonderful sketches including their take on Pinnochio which is awesomely good. Some of the guest appearances (the singing) are a little dated and worth skipping, but generally really top viewing from start to finish, enjoy :-)
