For the first time on DVD, relive those Seventies schooldays with Tucker, Trisha and the Grange Hill gang. This boxset features all 27 episodes from the first two series, originally shown in 1978 and 1979.

Series 1includes the famous swimming lesson episode, the saga of Benny's football boots, the
arrival of Michael Doyle and Justin Bennett's fall at a disused warehouse. In Series 2 Mr Llewelyn takes over as headmaster and the foundation of the Students' Action Group sees a canteen demonstration and protests over school uniform!

Now this takes me back along time. Ive been waiting ages for these dvd,s to come out and now my prayers have been answerd. These are the classic grange hill programes not the rubbish ones which are on today and they do get better as they go on. Lets just hope they will release series 5-12 as they were the best ones. Watch out for gripper........

A must see for those of us born in the 70's AND their kids

Absolutely brilliant!!!! It was so nice to "tucker" & the gang on my tv again after all these years.
All the memories just came flooding back & it reminded me of how school used to be (& of the mischief we used to get up to).
It also tackled a lot of taboo subjects back then too.
Also it makes me realise how good tv was back then.
Great t.v & i cant wait to get into series 3 & 4...

If you used to rush home from school to watch grange hill in the late 70's then these dvd's are a must.I was given this set of dvd's as a christmas present and have not stopped watching them since. I have now just purchased series 3 & 4 so can't wait to start watching those when they arrive.

I loved Grange Hill since i was a child, just like most of us!
However this is either a love it or lump it DVD release, if you are like me, i bought it for nostalgic purposes and well well worth the buy, i am hooked now, i can't stop watching them, so much so i bought the 3 & 4 series.

However if you just are a fan or use to watch it, and looking for something to buy, i'd pass, simply because you won't enjoy it like it should be.

But despite this, the DVD has some very bad points, first the picture quality, it is extremally poor in several places, surprising considering other programmes can stand the test of time, this clearly hasn't.
Secondly there have been a vast number of edits from this series, especially music edits, the lenth on some of the episodes are like 18 mins long, the normal being 23 mins.
It's another BBC drop clangers, over all though a great DVD to bring back fond memories, but nothing more.

Absolute Quality - Brings back great memories

These Episodes are world class a must for any grange hill fan.
I remember these episodes like they were yesterday.
Im amazed how quiet the streets were with very few cars around & like all memories from back then the weather was always sunny.
Great to see Bill Treacher (Arthur Fowler) in the episodes as Suzi's dad.
I hope the BBC put the other series's on DVD
