This is a fantastic box set. Packaging all the Davros tv adventures & numerous audio drama's together & lashing them with exclusive extras has created one of the best Doctor Who dvd releases yet. It contains the last five Doctor Who TV serials to feature the iconic Daleks & all eight audio drama's to feature their evil creator Davros. Packed with plenty of extras this is supreme value for money and a must for any Dalek fan. The stories themselves are great, the first story entitled Genesis of the Daleks, is a classic and even if the other stories don't match the standard set there still good in their own right. 'Genesis' delves into the origins of the Daleks and introduces the character of Davros. Davros is a superb villain, he's utterly evil, a scientific genius and a megalomaniac. He's the polar opposite of the Doctor and as such makes for a proper adversary. As for the quality of the stories - they're all very good even if they may not match the classic status 'Genesis' holds. The acting (particularly Tom Baker) is generally to a high standard while the writing varies from good to great. The special effects are (for the time at least) impressive while the settings, ranging from gritty London to a scarred wasteland, are nicely done. Praise must also be given to the Doctor Who restoration team who have ensured top notch picture and sound quality and stayed faithful to the episodes by not making any unnecessary alterations. This is just my opinion of course. The special features are also of high quality. Items such as the audio commentaries and documentary's are fascinating while things like production subtitles and CGI effects are superb. 'Remembrance of the Daleks' benefits the most. Its much improved over its single disc predecessor and is now a 2-disc special edition, exclusive to this box set. With two new documentary's, introductions to the deleted/extended scenes, a 5.1 digital surround sound track and much more this story has finally got the release it deserves. There's also the new 'Davros Connections' documentary pulling the Davros stories into a single chronology while exploring the character in-depth. These features make this box set all the more essential and massively increase its value. Then there are the eight audio drama's. These are good, with good voice acting and decent writing, they wont win any awards but they're done well enough, certainly pleased me and fill out a few story gaps between the tv serials as well further exploring the Daleks, Davros and their symbiotic relationship. A brand new, exclusive to this box set ,audio drama entitled 'The Davros Mission' is in this set as well. If you already have the four previous dvd's then you need (unless you're a 'hardcore' dalek fan like me) to question whether you really need it but for those who don't have the other adventures then this set is undeniably a must, and with the extra content even those who own 'Genesis' and 'Resurrection' etc should give this some much deserved thought.

This box set it not the best doctor who box set to be relesed as when doctor who got the the 1980's it got boring and was not as good the very first davros story as that story was brillant
but the others are not good and most of the stories have been released but however it does contain a brand a new radio story so it is worth getting but if you only want one story then is not worth you buying this!!!

The Daleks have always been the best enemy in Doctor Who (Angels aside) and I was so excited that when the new series cme back, Davros was not invited. He is a bit like the Master in the 80's! BORING!!!!! Actually the actors who have played the role are superb but in the 80's the Daleks need their own shows and not get over shadowed by this boring character. Fantastic introduction in Genesis and worth getting that story if you only ever want one story with him in!!

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

Okay let's be clear here, as some reviewers seem to be confused about this box set and it's contents. This is a limited edition set that contains four previously released stories and one entirely new release. Genesis of the Daleks, Resurrection of the Daleks and Revelation of the Daleks are the exact same releases as before. Remembrance of the Daleks is an all-new special edition with a completely new set of features and Destiny of the Daleks is an entirely new release and is also available separately for those that prefer it on it's own. The set also includes two extra discs, one contains new documentaries on the character of Davros and the making of the I, Davros audio productions and the other contains every Davros related audio play from Big Finish. That means you get the full-length audios of - Davros, The Juggernauts, Terror Firma, I, Davros: Innocence, I, Davros: Purity, I, Davros: Corruption, I, Davros: Guilt plus a new exclusive audio drama called The Davros Mission. This is spread over an eight disc set in special packaging. The special edition of Remembrance of the Daleks will be available at some point separately. So this is not really a rip-off, it's an bonus extra release for this year and a comprehensive box set for the character of Davros. All the material included with the exception of the two new documentaries and exclusive audio play are available separately, so this is an great option for those that want it. As a huge fan of the character I am personally looking forward to this set immensely. All the stories and audios included are brilliant and the new features sound fantastic. If you don't have these stories then this box set will save you some money and provide some excellent extra value, if you already have some of the stories then you might still be tempted thanks to the new bonus material. Either way this is a very enticing bumper box set.

Yeah buy this if you haven't already, like me, got the stories on disc seperately. Otherwise its a con to get you to spend money on packaging together Doctor Who Stories that have already been released - enough already lets get on with the stories that haven't been released on DVD yet there are still loads of them out there.
Individually the stories are great and worth looking at its just the box set idea i don't go for

Davros is my best ever doctor who baddy of all time. He was the only baddy that scared me years ago as well as the daleks of cours, i really really hope they bring him back in series 4 of the fantastic new dcoctor who that would be my best series ever any way the davros boxset, i have the video boxset with all the davros storys. You'll be getting Genesis Of The Daleks, Destiny Of The Daleks, Resurrection Of The Daleks, Revelation Of The Daleks and Remembrance Of The Daleks. I thing evry one of these storys are fantastic except Remembrance of the daleks because i don't like Sylvester McCoy that much and its the worst dalek story in the boxset its not rubbish its just ok. It will be lodded with special features, it is a bit pricy but you wont be disappointed it will be worth every penny. Pre-order it today.
