Right here gos..
The first part of this film was as good for football hooliganism as football factory, the middle part as good as perhaps snatch or lock stock for its general gangster feel, and the final part, involving the range rover killings, captured for me the sheer horror of having your face blown off on a cold frosty December morning; it still makes me shudder.
Overall the film is extremely enjoyable if you are a fan of the traditional gangster movie. Captures the violence and terror of the Essex underworld.
Even if you don't traditionally go for gangster the films, the film has substance, and being based on true events, could perhaps even be considered educational. Perhaps if not educational at least it shows us how nasty some of these underworld characters in the UK can be.
Top film, I'm definitely going to buy it, crack open a beer and go through the whole gripping process of watching it again.

this film is far and away one of the most graphically 'violent' films now in my collection ( because of the factual reality )
with a cast of very recognizable actors, the film is told by the lead character 'carlton leach' who graduates from a
'soccer-hooligan hell bent on violence against appossing
fans to the london 'gangland' were he fronts a gang of thugs, earning money for muscle-power.
his new-found associates/gang-leaders themselves, torture, maime and kill for fun. ( they themselves become out of control.)
the film is based on real-life events.
it is truely frightening that there really are people 'out there' like those portrayed in the film.
the film itself is well made.

Dull, Stupid, Boring, Badly Acted, Mug!!!

Is this what british film has come to, a thousand football factory clones with bad language and equally bad acting?

This film follows the traditional lazy cockney violence genre (beer/fight/domestic violence/beer fight etc), casual narration, editing to music, and a very skinny story line, problems created and solved by the introduction of new characters (who are then dealt with) and a main character who has no redeeming features, who storms about, like a stroppy teen.

The direction is clumsy and obvious and the fight scenes look like zombie attacks from 24 days later. Quite a few of the scenes (and possibly characters) are lifted from the start of 2001: a space odyssey

Its the same old actors, same dialogue, as every other 'gangster' films, in a just world these people should never been allowed near camera devices ever again.

buy Get Carter instead its a far smarter film and it has real character depth, and even a story line, oh and the word mug isnt used every 2 mins.
