Having read the mixed reviews of this film, I watched it with an open mind. This film spans three decades of the under belly of England's gangsters, and ends in the massacre of three leading members being assassinated in a Range Rover on farm land in 1995. I rememeber this happening, and all the speculation of who carried out the killings. This is adapted from mob member Carlton Leach's book, and although may play fast and loose with the facts, it does make up for a very entertaing, very violent, very foul mouthed night viewing. This film is similar to 2000's Essex Boy's also based on this event, but Foot Soldiers is actually a better film.
This may not be regarded as a classic, but if your a fan of The Kray's and The Football Factory, this will be greatly enjoyed.
It's nasty, brutal, and very good!

Well what can I say about this one...its just a typical British film...simliar to the likes of Green Street and Football Factory. OK it maybe based on a true story but theres nothing original about this film at all, just a bunch of people who take the likes of football to far considering its just a game so why fight over it, the actingwas ok, the story was rubbish and if you must avoid this film I just can't see why British films have to be the same and something new for once.

I was just reading a review below...Subtle as a brick! wel i understand wheres he is coming from, there are some quiet bad voilence and alot of swearing, hence the 18 cert. BUT...its a brilliant film based on a TRUE story, the scenes portray real events, its hard to believe with the standard of violence but it does, look it up...Rettendon Murders!! the scene at the end with the Car being towed away is a real clip taken from the news!

I totally recomend this film, but only if you dont mind ganster/druggy violence!! Its a top film that had me hooked and after i watched it i got on the net to research the murders!! Its all true! acted out brilliantly!!!

Honestly i dont usually do gangster films etc but this has to be an exception for anyone!!! WATCH IT!!!!

This Film makes deliberate attempt to stamp your face into the ground,The characters are almost totally to man Obnoxious and mean spirited, and ladies hang of there mens arms while there fellas put people in hospital over Cafe bills and pizza orders.I Have to say though that the dude who played Carlton leach does come across as someone who,s abit tasty and could handle themselves. The Violence at times almost slips into comedy its so over the top,Frank Harper makes a breif appearance at the end as a sadistic smiling killer. The bottom line is basically if your a fan of shouty,Violent,"Come ERE U Muppet Type English Gangster Films"You,ll love this and watch it again and again"Or until Julian gilbey makes Another one.

This film is spot on. Absoloute quality film in my eyes. Some of the acting and props are a bit poor, but apart from that the DVD is a must have for anybody.

what a great film! yes the fight sceens are a bit too fake with blood shooting ten feet from one punch & the story tends to put the main character in the shade towards the end but in all respect me n the misses realy enjoyed it!

Bought this on recommendation from a football team mate and I have thanked him ever since! Great film, gripping story line and an example of how money drives people to get in above their weight. Must see if you are a fan of the Brit-Gangster genre!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars BEST BRIT GANGSTA FILM FOR A WHILE.
