Ian Curtis and all the other faces are portrayed greatly. An insight into an interesting person that you will find intriging even if you dont like Joy Division. If you do like them though, you'll love this.
A great biopic of the rise and fall of Ian Curtis, and how fame, broken relationships and illness contributed to his suicide at 23 years old.
The acting is absolutely fantastic, with newcomer Sam Riley really stealing the film with his quiet and moody portrayal of the singer.
One thing to note is that this film is particluarly depressing - not just because of Curtis' demise, but also the black & white cinematography with bleak settings.
Toby Kebbell is also fantastic as the band manager Rob Gretton.
A must-see.
