Great film which I watched when it first came out but the Final Cut version, in my mind, completely spoilt the ending by cutting off the original happy ending and leaving it in the air.
Amazing film in all respects but...

I've always classed this film as my all time best Sci Fi, for such an inciteful look into the NOW not so distant future. Ridley Scott's outstanding cinematography and use of FX available at the time still challenges more modern heavy CGI reliant films. The only reason I give this a 4 star instead of 5 star rating is that I think that the Directors Cut version gives better clues and suggestions as to the "Unicorn" analogy. The remastering brings out more detail of the beautiful sets/scenery. Classic!!!
Surely, one of the best films ever made?

The film feels fairly slow paced, giving you plenty of time to soak up the brilliant and haunting 40's style atmosphere Ridley Scott creates for future LA. And that's what stands this film apart; it paints a complete picture of the future that is frighteningly plausible. The Final Cut is a great version of what is surely one of the best films ever made.
